  1. Sat watching Palace with a hint of jealousy. With years of mismanagement we are miles away from them however with a takeover, a vision and a structured plan this could be us in a few years. Wembley is a great place to win a trophy/play off final as we found out in 2023. Hopefully the good times are coming back. Fingers
  2. This was always going to take time. Cannot just write the manager off after two games. With the market we are recruiting in we are bringing in players who have to adapt to the championship and fast (that is the situation we have created but as mentioned earlier championship quality/experience costs money we either cannot afford or won't spend). Whoever the manager is cannot legislate for poor decisions from players(4th goal - no look back pass), 1st goal - very questionable penalty) and in a league up from last year we simply do not have the quality to get back into games having gifted these opportunities to the opposition. Will Preston be a turning point? maybe and we certainly need to turn Hillsborough into a fortress like we have these past two years and pick up the majority of points at home.
  3. That Southampton team will be very different at the end of the transfer window. Can't be too disappointed. Was always going to be a tough start with minimal time to shape the squad and implement a style of play very different from last season. Genuinely think we will be fine this season and finish mid table.
  4. I remember getting my "premier league return season ticket" as per the marketing campaign that summer. Think we played Blackburn at home on the first home game and remember thinking this is going to be a long old season. Didn't expect to be still waiting for our premier league return 23 season's later. That said had some great times since then Wembley, Cardiff and the 2011/2012 season albeit not top flight football. How the money in football has changed since 2000.
  5. Watched him play for Under 21s last season. Played upfront. He is lightening quick but rather lightweight.
  6. Chansiri has a history of backing his manager so something is clearly not being said (at the moment). Last year we failed in the play offs and Moore got a second crack at it. This year records broken and we got promoted (in the end) and he is gone. See what the coming days bring (the fans forum may give us some more information) if as stated Chansiri will be answering any questions asked (rather than lip service answers). Disappointed but will wait for more details to emerge on this.
  7. Wilks will be a bigger player for us in the championship than this season hopefully. With a full pre-season behind him I expect him to be firing. He offers something different to what we have in terms of pace but got to admit this season after we chasing him all summer was disappointed with his contribution albeit injuries have been a factor.
  8. That's what I thought aswell
  9. More tickets being released tomorrow.
  10. Even calmer in the shoot out. Pressure penalties.
  11. Really thought Peterborough would get a result against Ipswich today. If we could take it to the final day then who knows what could happen. Plymouth (Port Vale) and Ipswich (Fleetwood) are both tricky away matches and just supposing either go a goal down would make for a nervous end for both. Port Vale ran Ipswich close on Tuesday and Fleetwood are a much better team in terms of personnel since we played them we the signings they made in January. Can see Bristol Rovers and Barnsley taking points off Plymouth and Ipswich. Not giving up just yet.
  12. Totally Agree. I think Peterborough will beat Ipswich on Saturday and Barnsley will be well up for beating Ipswich (at home they have hammered both Derby and Plymouth and beat us so no reason to suggest they couldn't beat/draw with Ipswich). We win Saturday and against Shrewsbury and all on the last game at home to Derby.
  13. Can see Peterborough beating Ipswich Saturday. If we beat Exeter then who knows. Barnsley at home have beaten the top teams comfortably so even if they draw with Ipswich it's in our hands. Hopeful but not confident. Whatever happens tonight is a big step in the right direction (if only in the result rather than the performance)
