1 x adult; 1 x u16 spare for Birmingham
Supersiggi2 replied to Supersiggi2's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Tickets & Travel
Cancelled with ticket office -
I spoke at length with Des a couple of years ago at a charity event. We'd both had a few but one thing shone out was how serious he took his profession and pride in being a footballer. He said the same couldn't be said of certain other players at the club at that time. He said he would never have dreamt of coming back to pre-season over weight but many players did and one in particular was a disgrace. His word. At the time there were loads of rumours about Des's contract - had to be best paid, and massive performance bonuses - hence him not missing many games.

What’s The Best Wednesday Item You’ve Thrown Away ?

Early 90s umbro shell suit and Trevor style Umbro managers coat. -
Boycotts don't hurt Chansiri...

That was a home game. Away would be completely different and you know it. -

I refer back to the publicity point. Empty seats in an away end would not convey a message imho. Attending the Leeds match or buying a Bovril and a Twix offer no return whilst adding to the coffers whereas whilst buying away tickets would give a small amount of money to the club the benefit of a vociferous away end outweighs the cost. For transparency, I went to Wrexham, have ST but have not attended S6 this season yet. And I will not renew my ST while he is here. -

But for that figure, we ensure worldwide exposure. I posted earlier in the week, if we'd boycotted Wrexham and Leicester, and took a nominal couple of hundred, it would not have generated the publicity. That we otherwise benefited from. Would Wrexham have made their gold shirt gesture if 300 Wednesday fans had rolled up? No. -

So you want to boycott away games as you have no chance of a ticket? -
Time for The Trust to back a TOTAL boycott

I went yesterday. Pub had loads of Wrexham fans in the gold kit. All wearing them to support us. They applauded our chants, joined in with signs etc. All because of how vociferous the 1300 that went were. IF we'd only sold a couple of hundred as part of a full boycott, we would not have got their support and the publicity that came with that. IMHO full home boycott, sell out away games. -
That's like judging our fanbase by the simpletons that post on The Wednesday Sing.

How many points you got?
-
Not many on here went to matches before the boycott

Where's folks heading?

Crap. Should've been Baz with a comb over fluttering in the breeze and LP2 with accurate full arm sleeve tats. Must try harder.
-
I think you've been very fair pal
-
Asking or expecting other clubs to boycott on our behalf is wishful thinking at best and blindly naive. We wouldn't do it if the boot was on the other foot.

He'll be first out of the door if and when a takeover happens. They will 100% want their own guy. Always happens. I personally think HP has gone over the top with some comments back Dejcunt.

Pierce Charles injury confirmed by SWFC
Supersiggi2 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
This could be a real test of EFL resolve ref Dejcunt. If they declare we can't sign an emergency loan, it pretty much tells us everything on the their view of his ability to pay wages at the end of the month. Could be good news that Charles won't be sold. Hopefully it will come out that Dejtwat's own staff have made it up, and he isn't injured at all. Its a mutiny I tell you. -
We need to get away from black and white myopic view of Potg v away fans etc. A packed and vitriolic away end is worth a few bob in admin fees going to the club in getting the message out there. The trust have messed up by not making a special effort for Wrexham given their high profile. Personally, the only answer is home boycotts, raise the level with demonstrations and make our presence heard and felt at away games. The Thai embassy protest is a great idea.

L**ds boycott details
Supersiggi2 replied to General_Grievous's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I'm a 700+ as are my two sons. Haven't been to a match this year yet and won't be going to the Leeds match. However, for away games IMHO a full, loud, vitriolic away end is worth the few grand that makes it to the club. Wrexham match gives us a worldwide opportunity to make a mark. -
Leeds fans won't boycott. They revel in the 'Leeds would've taken more' line. If we give them the North Stand they reckon they'd fill it.
