  1. Breaks my heart to say this but… Sheffield Wednesday as we know it is dead. The pride we have as a team, a fanbase, our reputation up in smoke. Even if we do get taken over the road to recovery will likely be years if not decades, and many of our fans will not be around when we get back to anywhere close to where we should be. messages don’t get delivered to the chairman. Protest all you like, dont go to games, dont buy from the shop… or do. I don’t see it making any difference now. Our only hope is the regulator and even if that works the lasting damage to this once great club is almost critical. All because of one man’s narcissism. Woe betide Chansiri if he steps near Sheffield for any reason other than to sign over ownership.
  2. This season is a write off and was at the start of the season. Our game is in the boardroom and at the negotiation table. Happy to accept relegation if it gets rid of Chansiri
  3. I seriously doubt that Röhl will want the job, for many reasons… can’t keep bailing out South Yorkshire clubs from awful starts!
  4. Playoffs don't need to be touched. Instead all leagues should have three relegation slots, and Championship downwards should have 3 promotion slots. Also bring back cup replays, and let the clubs wanting the Euro superleague have their wish. It will be as popular as the Club World Cup, albeit probably slightly more entertaining
  5. We deserve a points deduction and will get one. Hopefully it’ll happen this season and not roll into next as we’re already down.
  6. Really sorry for my ignorance here - what exactly do the points do? I genuinely thought it was just to ensure that you could get playoff tickets and priority for away games.
  7. Siege mentality and it is working. There’s a proper togetherness in the group and special things will happen when that environment is cultivated.
  8. probably didnt need another thread
  9. Exactly this. Without revenue Chansiri will surely have no option but to sell and the regulator will make him sell or take the club off him if he defaults which he inevitably will. It costs money to put matches on - especially in the evening - and he won’t make a penny. The best thing we as fans can do is still go to the ground and protest properly whilst the game is off. Perhaps even set up a peaceful picket line so Wednesday fans entering the ground have to cross it. Police presence will be huge because of Leeds but if we mobilise and concentrate on the bigger picture media will notice.
  10. This is the biggest thing Chansiri has stolen from me. Replaced a genuine love for a club (that I went with my late father as a boy, with my mates as an adolescent, and with my daughter as an adult), with complete and abject apathy. I would have got angry about people buying tickets but I just have lost all heart. Instead I pity them, really. I feel sorry for the players most of all. Some good kids there with their first taste of Hillsborough. The supporters that have bought tickets won’t sing or cheer, they’ll sit on their àrses eating their kebab meat and chips. It will probably be a worse atmosphere than if no one went tbh. I think those who don’t go can make a point and stand in Hillsborough park, maybe do some kind of candlelit vigil. Why not. Might make the local papers again. I’m sure we can get more than 1500 in protest. Our only hopes are that The Bizzle is right or the regulator sorts us out. I think one or the other will still happen but if they don’t…
  11. Wonder what the cost of using the ground in the evening is? Have to pay staff, floodlights, probably some kind of license… even if a handful of fans go hes probably going to be running at a loss. Just tired of it. All of it. The infighting is the worst I’ve known it, but weirdly most of us seem to be on the same side. Boycott, don't boycott, protest, don’t protest… fact is that football is a numbers game and soon it will not be sustainable. I sincerely hope that those going to the match enjoy themselves if that’s what they want to do. £15 to watch Wednesday is very decent.
  12. All for a boycott - been calling for one for a while now, back at the end of last season when we had nothing to play for. But to be honest if the regulator is going to do their job properly Chansiri will be forced out at some point. So if you want to go to the game, go with a clear conscience. Live and let live etc etc. Personally I won’t be back in Hillsborough until he’s gone.
  13. One of the most enjoyable games I’ve watched on telly in a long time that. Helped that nothing was really riding on it.
  14. How can you be contrarian when it comes to racism though? Zero tolerance for racism should extend to comments like theirs.
  15. The name of an individual does not represent a culture or a race. And you’re undermining the importance of calling out racial prejudice or abuse.
  16. Nah but was shown in’t sky
  17. You’ll know me by the bucket hat
  18. Wondering if we should set up a picket line outside Middlewood Road. If the players go on strike we should support them
  19. Only one thing we can do is not go. If someone set up a pledge that said “I will not go to a single match whilst Chansiri is in charge” I would sign it in a heartbeat. And that utterly breaks my heart.
