This is the biggest thing Chansiri has stolen from me. Replaced a genuine love for a club (that I went with my late father as a boy, with my mates as an adolescent, and with my daughter as an adult), with complete and abject apathy.
I would have got angry about people buying tickets but I just have lost all heart. Instead I pity them, really. I feel sorry for the players most of all. Some good kids there with their first taste of Hillsborough. The supporters that have bought tickets won’t sing or cheer, they’ll sit on their àrses eating their kebab meat and chips. It will probably be a worse atmosphere than if no one went tbh.
I think those who don’t go can make a point and stand in Hillsborough park, maybe do some kind of candlelit vigil. Why not. Might make the local papers again. I’m sure we can get more than 1500 in protest.
Our only hopes are that The Bizzle is right or the regulator sorts us out. I think one or the other will still happen but if they don’t…
