  1. I thought his statement said £5m deposit to get a meeting to discuss a final amount. But could be misremember. Mentally, that was eons ago.
  2. This is not ITK at all.. but an owner I would LOVE to throw his hat in the ring (if the claim is that we don't know the name yet) is Ron Burkle. He saved the Pittsburgh Penguins from bankruptcy in 1999 and remains a minority owner. I was drawn to Sheffield Wednesday due to the city's connection/similarity to Pittsburgh... Maybe Burkle could feel the same way and feel the same way about a bankrupt club? He's also attempted to become an owner of an expansion MLS club (fell through due to covid) but he does own a NWSL club. So there is interest in the sport.
  3. If track record is anything here, he just won’t pay the sell on?
  4. Thanks for this. I’ve been meaning to look into what happened and this appears succinct. I get that their fans want him out and therefore he “must be bad” but this paints a different picture.
  5. The idea of League One being profitable is crazy to me, especially how the club is currently run. If there are two things I know about DC he 1) will keep Premier League Prices and 2) will not improve the ground. If the North Stand is condemned, at best you're getting 75% of the matchday income and if we include the anger and discontent the fans are about to go through this season, that's a pipe dream. Just to break even he'd be looking at a wage bill around £4.5M with is about 3.5x less than the team that won promotion via playoffs in 2022/2023.
  6. Month 1 - Sell Charles Month 2 - Sell Gassama Month 3 - Mystery 4th kit In all seriousness, the 12 month plan should be heavily scrutinized based on the events of the last 3 months/10 years
  7. Alright, I assume this has been brought up already. But based on Rob's interview today, I want to say I'm more hopeful of the Broncos Consortium than before. Flanagan says that the club's response was "the club is not for sale at that price." Perhaps that means they have a price that's on the table that's higher than what they are offering? He later talks about how there is an unknown amount of time after a deal is agreed to go through due diligence. If DC agreed to the Broncos Consortium, it's easy to immediately bat away these offers. And if they are currently going through due diligence, we don't know how long it will take, but if it's underway that could be positive. As for Flanagan, he's fine. I'm definitely on board with this consortium as a 1b
  8. Joe updated the info. The embargo turns into a “transfer ban” if/when the wages are paid. So normal squad list rules (25 players over 21) but cannot pay fees of any kind
  9. I agree, just feels irrational to keep penalties on club if the owner, responsible for the issue, is gone. Hurts his negotiation stance and would be advantageous for a new owner. Seems obvious to lift an embargo.
  10. Too hard to keep up & sorry if posted, but some sources of embargoes that were lifted after a takeover: Swindon: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/21967892.amp Derby: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65543136.amp
  11. Great find, this is really well done.
  12. A lot of variables, but IF the club does not make a dramatic shift in recruitment/planning, and IF Pedersen is the next manager... we should look at potential connections to the manager. I went through Pedersen's manager profile to see players that he's worked with in the past and also cross checked players that would be either free in June or their contract expires in December 2025 or June 2026 for a 'cut rate' transfer fee. Here are some options should Pedersen take the reins: Niko Kijewski, 29-year-old LB at 3.Liga SC Verl, Contract Expiry - June 2025 - Pedersen Connection: Eintracht Braunschweig - Should Ryo move on after his short term contract expires, Kijewski provides relatively strong defensive metrics as well as a strong dribbler. The profile is intriguing, but does not provide much for projection/sell-on. Sandro Ingosolitch, 28-year-old RB at Rheindorf Altach in the Austrian Budesliga - Contract Expiry: June 2026 - Pedersen Connection - RB Salzburg Academy -- Looks to be a defense-first RB. Perhaps he would be willing to backup Valery if Pol were not extended, but not sure he'd take such a reduction in playing time. Jakob Glesnes - 31-year-old CB, Philadelphia Union - Contract Expiry: December 2025 - Pedresen Connection: Strømsgodset IF - Glesnes looks like a strong ball-playing defender in the MLS, but at 31 and requiring a fee (unless he is pursued in January), it might not make sense. Duplexes Tchamba - 26-year-old CB, Casa Pia - Contract Expiry: June 2026 - Pedersen Connection: Strømsgodset IF - Another CB that is comfortable with the ball at his feet, I wouldn't hate paying a fee (£700K est.) for a left-footed defender that has such strong defensive metrics along with strong passing skills in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. Moses Mawa - 28 year-old ST, Hamarkameratene - Contract Expiry - June 2026 - Pedersen Connection: Strømsgodset IF - Mawa is 28, but the profile is of a Power Forward piques my interest. He'd require a fee (£300K est.) but his ability to make runs, carry the ball, and create havoc in the box are all intriguing. Kristian Pedersen, 30 year-old CB, Swansea - Contract Expiry: June 2025 - Pedersen Connection: HB Köge - I'm very sorry, but this feels set in stone.
  13. Two intriguing (to me) options from abroad: Matthias Taferner - CM - WSG Swarovski - Out of contract Box-to-Box type that seems to run for days strong carrying and defensive ability Dominik Janošek - AM/Wing - N. A. C. - Elite eredivisie passing ability. Samson Tovide - ST - Colchester - Would cost a (nominal) fee but looks to fit the Power Forward profile quite nicely. Need to hit on a diamond in the rough. Maybe could be him?
