  1. Hi Have flight booked over for the match tomorrow but couldnt get a ticket. Will be heading over anyway. If anyone has one for sale i could meet at train station in Birmingham or at the ground. Otherwise I'll be sitting on my hands in the home end..... Thanks
  2. Hi From Roscommon but living in Dublin. Usually try and get over 3 or 4 times a year depending on cheap flights with Ryanair. Kids getting older so might hopefully be able to get over more often in the future. I blame John Sheridan. His goal against United is etched in my memory like most Wednesday fans.
  3. Theres about 45 of us in the Irish Sheffield Wednesday Supporters Club on Facebook I'm based in Dublin and try and get over to as many games as I can - usually 5-6 a year. Travel is dependent on cheap Ryanair flights, (and family committments) as I try to make it over and back in the day to keep costs down (not having to splash out on accommodation) Sometimes away games work out easier as flying into East Midlands etc is usually cheap and within easy range for Nottingham, Leicester etc. Homes games are obviously preferable but Ryanair keep messing about with flight times in and out of Leeds. Some times of the year it works out perfectly, and then other times its impossible leaving Manchester the only real option, but landing taxes etc there are off the wall.... Train timetables are another story altogether. Still - still beats the efforts made in the late 90's when we used to head over on the Ferry leaving Dublin at about 8.00 on Friday night and not getting back until 8.00 Sunday morning with no sleep. It was worth it after a win, but after a 0-0 draw or worse still a defeat if left one questioning the sanity of it all. Still - its beats supporting Man U UTO
  4. Nowhere quite as exotic as some of the locations mentioned - Dublin but making it over for the Derby game at the end of the month - cant wait...
  5. Count me in. PM me with further details if any.
  6. With the news that the Co-op Bank have extended the loan to cover losses how much are the likes of Marcus Tudgay and Lee Grant on, assuming they must have wanted something close to parity to Franny Jeffers, or were there relegation clauses built into the players contracts ?
  7. Hi, Not sure how far you had planned to travel but if you fancied it then you could easily head down to Sligo firstly. Great little place to spend a night with fantastic scenery and beaches (Strandhill) nearby. Carrick on Shannon is also a cracking little place with super pubs, restaurants and a great atmosphere during the summer. From Sligo / Carrick head across the North of Mayo to Ballina, Crossmolina and then west from there. Stunning scenery, remote beyond belief. Westport is another super place in summer. You could head down from there to Connemara and end up in Galway which is also well recommended. In all it would be a leisurly 4/5 day trip and would certainly be memorable. Enjoy the trip in any case.
  8. All gone - damn it anyway. Booked flights over for the match and everything. Anyone know anyone selling 1 ?
  9. Count me in. In Dublin and dont mind lending a hand either. There was the club a few years ago which seemed to die as the slide commenced. I can dig out an old copy. John from Tallaght direction used to run it so it would be good to give him a shout - is there still a Fan club section in the Evening Herald?
