  1. That's only part true. I'm 78 but I caught the train at Retford to protest at the Thai Embassy and there were others there roughly the same age. In the other hand, I have talked to people over 60 who say we shouldn't protest. It might upset the players, it might put of potential buyers. One even said he didn't think our beloved leader wasn't doing a bad job. Some I talked too don't fully understand how bad Chansairi is. I fully agree that handing out leaflets before each match informing people of how badly the club is being run and evil he is. If we can manage the fence, some OAPs might run on the pitch after 10 minutes after reading it.
  2. I saw his first game for Wednesday. I think it was against Bolton and we won 1 - 0. Everyone said if we had signed him earlier we would have stayed up that season. He was my favourite all time Wednesday player so I started playing in goal. He made centre halves job easier because of the way he dealt with crosses commanding the whole penalty area.
  3. Max lived a few doors down from where I lived in Hayton but he has recently moved. He was well liked by all who knew him. He is is a top man.
  4. I went today and have just got on the train home. The reason we were on the other side of the road is due to the amount of space. It was brilliantly well organised by London Owls and the Thai Embassy accepted the letter and said it would be sent to the King Of Thailand. Today filled me with such pride in our beloved club. When the clown has gone we will still be here. A special mention to Alan who organised it.
  5. Yes and also won't buy one until he's gone
  6. Yes I will definitely put off buying early bird and I have always bought it early.
  7. I agree but what we must have is an organised disciplined protest. We need the Thai embassy on our side. We don't want any knuckleheads ruining it and giving bad publicity and turning people against our cause. Not being a diplomat so this might sound daft but could try to meet with someone from embassy to tell him what our chairman is doing.
  8. I will check my facts. It was in Keith Farnsworth book on Sheffield football. I may have Crookes Club wrong but I know the size of the goals ( 8 feet high x 8 yards wide came from a meeting in a Sheffield club
  9. I will be going down to protest on the 4th. I think it would be a good idea to present a letter from our MPs on House of Commons stationary to the Thai ambassador. Sheffield is the home of football, its rules were made In Sheffield including the size of the goals etc. Crookes WMC and the Loco Club are where a lot of the rules were formulated. Also it is publicly not doing Thailand any good
  10. I am up for it but I can make because I am retired but I'm up for anything to get rid of this man who is doing his to kill our club
  11. Sadly I thought some of the players froze on the day. Fantastic support and I remember the police being fantastic, laughing and joking with the supporters. So sad at the end. I'm
  12. First match was v Leicester 54/55 season. Dennis Woodhead scored and we won 1-0. I didn’t start going regularly till 57/58 season though.
  13. I saw his first game. It was against Manchester United and he was up against John Connelly, the current England winger. We thought Catterick was mad to give him his debut against Connelly. We were wrong, he was brilliant. I think he only ever got an England B cap. One of the best full backs I've seen and a real gentleman.
  14. Allow Harry Catterick to buy Joe Baker. The board said no, he went to Arsenal and Catterick , the best manager we ever had left for Everton. We were the second best team in the country and this could have been the player that would have kept us up there.
  15. Brilliant full back and very quick. Played in the best Wednesday side in my time
  16. Beating Spurs in 1960 at Hillsborough 2 - 1. They had not lost a game until then. The crowd was 57,000 and the ground had only 3 sides as the North Stand was being built with many thousands locked outside. Wednesday finished on 66 points when you only got 2 points for a win.. Beating Chelsea 2 - 0 at Villa Park in the 1966 semi final and Wembley 1991
  17. Norman Curtis followed by Ken Knighton
