  1. Hi all, The Star have launched a big supporter survey to get a better idea of fan feeling towards a whole host of topics including boycotts, how long Dejphon Chansiri will be around for and the Independent Football Regulator. It's only been up a few hours and we've had hundreds of reponses. We'd appreciate you taking part so we can get the best possible view of the feeling of the fan base - it only takes a couple of minutes. You can take the survey here: https://forms.gle/M1C7z7PXmCYbJb6XA Many thanks!
  2. For the avoidance of doubt, no hinting here. Purely an innocent explanation of the mechanics of how things work in the industry as I'd had a lot of Qs on why we've not run any front-facing quotes stuff since season close. Ended up opening up more rabbit holes than it was worth. Lesson learned!
  3. This may shock you. I'm not a fussy eater.
  4. It may not be in the spirit of this week, but I'm going to go into bat for my boy Danny here. It's a United-eyed piece for a United audience. We all do it. He's an excellent journalist and a belting fella.. even if he is a big ginger Blade. Here's a piece I wrote to go alongside the cited Danny piece - if you were a United fan you'd probably feel it overly Owl-y, a bit of a gallery-play and a fair way up the wind-up scale. https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/the-pressure-is-on-sheffield-united-not-sheffield-wednesday-alex-millers-carefree-owls-verdict-5029868 All that said, I hope Danny has an utterly miserable weekend. UTO.
  5. Agreed. That Miller gives it the biggun but knows nish. Tom is good though.
  6. Evening all, Shameless plug for some international break long readery for those who like that sort of thing. Cheers!
  7. Nah then, "I was a fairly introverted, academic person living in an environment that was highly-extroverted and non-academic.." "I never fit in with any football team, basically. Maybe the other players could tell you why, but I never found someone I truly clicked with.." "A lot of people put it as their be-all and end-all. I enjoyed it so much, I did, but at the same time I really did struggle with not fitting in that world. If you were to speak to other players about me, they might say ‘Oh he was an oddball or a weirdo’ because in truth I never really clicked in terms of finding my place in a changing room.." The longest piece I've ever written for The Star - a couple of years in the making - finds Patrick Collins in sunny Lithuania. https://x.com/AlexMiller91/status/1703439651929837657?s=20
  8. Nah then. Done a long read on Devis Vasquez for those of you that like that sort of thing. Sithee.
  9. Afternoon all, A couple of pieces below that I hope encapsulates the mourning of two figures from Wednesday's most gloried era, from chats with two of the men that made it so. Here's Ron Atkinson on Trevor Francis.. and Roland Nilsson on Chris Bart-Williams.
  10. Right when they need it most! Simple explanation to it.. https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/why-sheffield-wednesdays-indoor-training-dome-sits-deflated-at-middlewood-road-deflated-amid-heavy-snow-4059470
  11. Some more long readery for your delectation should you dig that sort of thing..
  12. Happy to answer any Qs he might have mate. Tell him to drop me an email or a DM on Twitter - response time is shocking (he says replying to a post five days later) but I'll get back to him eventually.
  13. Back in the day newspapers had enough cash to employ sub-editors for exactly that, mate.. Biggsy tells us all about it.. the lavish sods!!
  14. Aye - gone back in, hopefully sorted them now. In a rush to hit deadline, overworked and underslept.. that's my (fairly weak) excuse! Cheers.
