  1. Ruffled a few feathers here I reckon. I’m still behind the players and the staff on the ground, so there’s no flounce about it. The question itself implies a binary choice, so perhaps it’s been (rightly) taken as such. Hyperbolic? Yes. There are other measures and outcomes of course (new owner Chansiri finally sees sense) that would be more favourable, but it’s a hell of a long way back to recover from the mess we’re in. The club means a lot to me as it does to everybody here and I can’t stand seeing it being dragged through the dirt the way it is. It’s not my intent to say ‘I don’t want a club anymore’, it’s moreso an emotional reaction to an owner who has shown us a great deal of disrespect.
  2. First goal with Benny Hill music.... MAKE. THIS. HAPPEN. PLEASE!!!
  3. Title says it all. I’d rather the club folded than continue with Chansiri throttling it. Horrifically poor recruitment of players and staff, constant cash flow problems, total disrespect shown to the supporters, and a childish refusal to accept responsibility for the damage he’s caused have sent the club past the point of no return. The name can always be re-used in some way for a Phoenix club if it comes to that, but that comes after the fall. No Wednesday is better than *this* Wednesday.
  4. Would anyone be surprised if Chansiri made up the narrative of “I offered him a (short term) contract and he turned it down. End of story, forget about him, let me choose someone now” to try and show he at least ‘tried’ to keep the fans happy? I’ve no proof of that before anyone says anything, but Chansiri seems to be intentionally alienating the supporters from the club as an property. He really doesn’t care about the fans (customers) at all. He doesn’t understand the mindset of the asset he’s bought and the community and feeling around it. It’s a child’s view of what football is, being “Football’s all about money, Champions League, Tiki-Taka and inane tekkers YouTube twaddle” perhaps I'm also angry about the direction Football has taken, but I’m certainly convinced that our club is gone and I’m personally in the process of detachment from the current club and it’s state. I’ll continue to support ‘the team’ if that makes any sense, but no more than that until the ownership has changed or until we have a hard reset.
  5. After Chansiri? The Nuclear Option. The club as we know it is finished. what will probably happen is a rebuild from the ground up in League 1, League 2, or possibly even from the non-league. a fresh start in a lower vs. a continuous death spiral? Not a difficult choice for me.
  6. Any good side needs at least three players for each position in the whole squad (I’m not talking about the selected 25, I mean the entire setup). To only have one good LB and another who is promising but not the finished article in our squad is concerning. Plus, also consider that he is a very good player in League 2/League 1. Perhaps it’s wise to look in those markets as well since....y’know.....
  7. For goodness sake, move him on. He’s done.
  8. I’ve always liked Lukas ‘The Duke’ Jutkeiwicz at this level. He would answer a lot of the questions we have about the striking and goal scoring problems we have if we brought him in. can I use the term ‘Missing Link’ in a way that doesn’t imply he’s a Neanderthal?
  9. He’s the biggest creditor for sure. However, administration procedures can be started by any creditor(s) within the club. If Chansiri is the *only* creditor then there’s little chance of a voluntary agreement. However, there is a possibility that the club may be put into an enforced Administration CVA if it’s deemed to have overstretched its resources (like Leeds in 2007), or if the owner decides to withdraw all funding or refuses to/cannot provide sufficient funding for the operation of the club (like Bury in 2019). Not saying that any scenario is likely here, only presenting that there are pathways to Administration that are beyond Chansiri’s control.
  10. That Newcastle team shouldn’t be struggling as badly as they are, there are some quality players in there. Listening to some Newcastle fans podcasts and YT channels and I feel terrible for them having to put up with the dross I’m seeing in the highlights. Bruce looks like he’s lost but doesn’t want to resign because he’ll supposedly get a £1.5 Mill payout, Mike Ashley won’t sack him because he’ll have to spend more money on a club he wants to sell. Its a bad situation that is quickly spiraling for them. Bruce wanted to leave us, that’s fine, his choice. After the great start he’d made in settling us down and almost getting us into playoff contention He could have made himself a hero at Wednesday and I was fully behind him until he gave *that* interview about the Newcastle link. He’s getting all the derision and pellets he deserves now.
  11. I might have said this before Christmas, but just in case I didn’t.... Administration is in no way a good outcome, however it may be our only way out of the hole we’re in. Chansiri won’t sell up for anything less than two or three times what he bought it for plus the price he’ll put on any resale of the stadium, so a forcible acquisition by Administrators may be the only viable option. There could be a ridiculously wealthy US/otherwise foreign businessman or oil sheik who decides to purchase us. That in itself is a huge gamble since the next guy could be worse than Chansiri. Based on the vast majority of case studies I’ve seen over the years I’d be much more comfortable with a local businessman or even a consortium of local business magnates and supporters owning the club but this seems unlikely Another possibility is that Chansiri finally understands he isn’t the be all and end all of the club and relinquishes some sort of control over club affairs to a Manager or a Director of Football. I ask for the moon and the stars there. ultimately the medicine is going to be bitter however we chose to take it. The thought has had even crossed my mind, and it’s an answer that I wrestle with: Is no Wednesday better than *this* Wednesday?
  12. We’re descending into madness. i
  13. Thick Mick thee say? Get thee kegs down son!
  14. Luongo and Westwood won’t play on Sunday, seems we’re saving them for Coventry. The others are supposedly in the frame to play. I’d be tempted to play the 11 that beat Exeter and start the returnees on the bench with an eye to bring them on later in the game solely to get minutes on the board in time for the Coventry game.
  15. Odd choice in a sense seeing as they have promotion ambitions and would be competing with teams that play more expansive football than McCarthy is known for, but perhaps there’s a sense that he knows how to win matches and he is a safe pair of hands for the future if they fail to gain promotion. Might not be an amazing appointment for them but it’s a stable pick at the very least. Main point that comes to mind however is the stark contrast between Vincent Tan and Dej Chansiri. Tan isn’t particularly well liked by many Cardiff fans or outside fans, but he’s quick and he’s ruthless in his decision making, which is partly why they’ve had the relative success they’ve had. Chansiri demonstrates the exact opposite characteristics and it’s why we struggle so much. Putting aside the financial differences between the two clubs, clear leadership and decision making is how to do business effectively. Cant believe I’m saying that I’m envious of Cardiff having a new manager so quickly seeing as it’s McCarthy, but I am.
  16. Bannan is quickly becoming the next Kieran Lee as far as attitude and commitment to the club go. If most of these younger lads coming up are anything like those two and Shaw in their demeanor I’d say our future doesn’t look so grim
  17. Don’t think we’ve got much to lose in re-signing him to play for us in a short term capacity. He’ll be a good alternative if (more likely when) Luongo isn’t fit and can fill the centre back position well enough too. And bear in mind the two coaches who binned him had a problem with being challenged in their way of doing things. Strong personalities tend to be more honest in their assessment in my experience. if he wants to stay on longer term I could see him working in a coaching capacity for us if he has the right credentials.
  18. I’d like to see him as the new manager if it’s all true but if he’s got any sense he’ll steer well clear of us. He’ll be another manager who wants to bring in his players and implement his style of play which as we all know is kryptonite to Chansiri.
  19. If it isn’t going to be Cook then the only other choice I’d even passingly consider is Thompson until the end of the season. no need to spend more on hiring a new coach and staff, he knows the young lads and I reckon this needs to be our future direction. And if we are relegated we won’t need to sack anyone neccesarily since Thompson would probably go back to coaching role. Then again, I speak as though we actually have a sensible chairman. Never mind.
  20. This one might get moved to General chat, but the permutations of these results that directly affect us are always fascinating to my mind. A smash and grab win for Rotherham means we are still in 21st place on equal points with Derby and Rotherham respectively (19 points) and only separated by 2 goals in Goal Difference. Was this a good result for us? Or a terrible result? For you, what would have been the best outcome? I wont say what I think here at first since this is more about general consensus of the site and the punters.
  21. I’d have him back if he hadn’t left us in such acrimonious circumstances. We were moving in the right direction with the players he had and the players he’d brought in before it all went to the dogs. We weren’t ultra defensive like he is setting up Newcastle to be and he is probably the man manager type that the players need from time to time. But as was seen, to turn his back on us after all the time and support we gave him is not a bridge that can be fixed. or ”A manager that I love and hate in equal measure”
  22. What would the general consensus be if Izzy Brown were to be recalled? Chelsea would look at the stats and see he’s hardly played and wouldn’t see any sign that he’ll be playing much in future so it wouldn’t be surprising. I’d be disappointed to see him go. He’s been unfortunate with the early injury he picked up and then the managerial tale which saw him pretty much cast aside by Fuggin’Pulis. He needs a run of more than ten minutes and a chance to play in his natural position, and perhaps a new manager can incorporate that. thoughts?
  23. O’Neil Donaldson....O’Neill Donaldson.....O’Niell Donaldson......O’Neal Donaldson......
  24. He does have a good record overall, for sure. If he were to get the job he may surprise us with how good he is. The adage ‘You're only as good as your last.....’ is there for a reason though. Further, all of the base points (continental style, pedigree with Bayern Munich, style of play he employs, his previous jobs having huge financial and personnel resources) work against him as far as his suitability for our club at this time go.
