Hi fellow Wednesdayites.
Firstly, I hope it is ok to post this here but please feel free to move somewhere more appropriate if needed.
I have a friend who suffers from androgenic alopecia. For those of you who may not know what this is, it’s a form of hair loss that affects both men and women.
As a women, this has impacted my friend pretty hard, in terms of her overall confidence and has caused her already existing depression to spiral somewhat.
This has been compounded further within the past 18 months, brought on by the stress of having lost her father, and also undergoing too major operations.
Anyway, my friend is trying to raise some money in order for her to purchase a hair piece. They are very expensive (can run into thousands!) and there is no support through NHS (as far as I am aware) for her condition.
I would really like to try and help my friend reach her target and ultimately enable her to purchase a hair piece, and put a smile back on her face again.
I appreciate this isn’t the typical fundraising event that we normally see on Owlstalk, and that times are hard and Xmas is just around the corner but any help fellow Owls can offer in terms of a donation would I am sure be greatly appreciated by my friend, and get her closer to her overall fundraising target.
