  1. From what I hear, they'll be very lucky if they become another Stoke, WBA or Norwich. They're in real financial trouble. They are due to pay a big payment (circa £10mil) to the Poundland prince and don't have the funds because they've borrowed from McQuarrie bank at extortionate rates, secured against future parachute payments and TV monies. Their American syndicate are falling out and taking legal action against each other too. They're falling apart as much as we were a year or so ago. I just hope they don't go into Admin and pick up our rejected bidders.
  2. I heard H from Steps was put off by the response from SCC.
  3. In years to come, memorabilia with his name on could become rare due to fans destroying them. That shirt could be worth more left untouched. People will lose their hatred of him in time and focus on the success we've had since he left. Then there will likely be some who enjoy the macabre and want to collect items relating to weirdos and despots etc.
  4. Both Watmore and Redmond have had serious injury issues, like many free agents, and as such we'd be taking a big risk signing them. I'd like us to widen the net and look at what free agents are available from abroad.
  5. Wales U19s lost 0-3 to Germany U19s yesterday. Grainger came on for last 20 minutes and Stretch was an unused sub. Not surprised they lost putting a weakened team out. Well done Wednesday boys!
  6. Once we make it to the Premier League we won't be relying on the hardcore fans to fill the stadium. Particularly if the new owners get a decent marketing team in place to sell the 'brand' to the public. I suspect we'll attract large numbers of casual fans from all over the country/world, who might attend 5-6 games a season on top of those that return to the club after years of just keeping an eye out for results etc. Then there'll be a new generation of kids who drag their parents along to watch what they've seen on Match of the Day. Not to mention the away end being full every week.
  7. I've heard/read elsewhere that NAP are in the process of calling in the loan. We just have to hope there's some truth to it and that it has the desired effect.
  8. I see the other night Chris Wilder was disciplined again for kicking a ball into the crowd and hitting a young supporter. Apparently, it's not the first time the sh*t has hit the fan.
  9. I noticed that too, two things spring to mind: What confidence to have at 16 years old What confidence his teammates and the management must have in his ability.
  10. One positive I see from the EFL refusing to let us sign loan players even without paying a loan fee or wages is that it stops Chansiri accepting offers from Blackburn/pigs/WHU etc. to make cut-price deals with an immediate loan back for Charles/Cadamarteri/Lowe/Valery. That would mean he doesn't get his hands on funds to see him through the next few months and prolong the agony.
  11. Clayton should really have scored there, two bites of the cherry.
  12. Lovely free kick from Bayliss for 2-1
  13. Soft penalty given away by Da Costa. No 10, Beyliss? looks decent.
  14. I suspect a fair few of those 4k will be tickets bought for TPPs and not for attendance. There could well be more leeds fans than Owls at S6 tonight. However, referring to people as scabs is not going to help getting everyone on board.
  15. For anyone brave enough to watch our 'U18s/U16s' take on Bristol U21s here's a link
