  1. But would you be alive to claim the insurance… if if the worst happened, absolutely diabolical from the council on lack of transparency and makes a mock of SAG and the original decision if safe, and at worst putting the public at risk by reopening, why do I have a MASSIVE feeling this is not going to end well.
  2. let’s be honest, there’s a lot of ‘fans’ and not suppprters who come out for big games due to the starvation of success, and whilst there has been growth of attendances over the last 10 years or so across the board, there is ZERO, evidence that there’s enough fans out there to fill a 35k stadium never mind a 45k, even in seasons of success there hasn’t need an average over 28k…. and it’s constant attendees not one off games that matter., there’s no evidence over the last 50 years that there would be average attendances over 30k.. a new stadium of 35k would be ambitious
  3. This has Hillsbrough disaster number 2 written all over it, those issuing a safety cert need to be VERY certain that it’s safe to use or there well could be serious culpability if anything does happen heavens forbid! if I was a season ticket holder on there I wouldn’t be setting foot until major improvements are made and I’d be demanding that I get moved.
  4. let’s not get carried away, one trophy that Oxford United won a few years earlier hardly puts distance between the clubs, it’s getting to a stage where a third of the fan base, probably even more don’t even remember those times. Recent history, this century, has the stats for Wembley appearances, cup semis, promotions, seasons in the top flight and attendances - like it or not are with the red side of the city. It’s just fact and in black and white.
  5. looking likely a sell out, a block to sell with a week to go. Do you think the obsession with attendances is because there’s hardly been anything to celebrate over the last 25 years so people are clinging on to past attendance history because United have also had the upper hand on average attendance over the last 25 years - apart from the 6 years of league 1?
  6. Isn’t there a recall deadline and wasn’t it 12 noon today?
  7. Apart from the 6 years Utd were in L1, Wednesday haven’t finished above Utd… so is that 18 years..
  8. Southampton aren’t gonna match the release clause.. it’s a very high figure.. and I think really that is what it will come down to, as Channers won’t allow him to go unless it’s met
  9. United also have the facilities and a great academy that provides a string of players that go through the first team and raise cash for promotion bids, Those along with good recruitment and a good manager get you promotion.
  10. A lot will be decided where the team finishes will be how other teams strengthen and what players if any players can be brought in the team, leave as is and it’s going to be a struggle 15TH to 22nd, strengthen with a couple of quality additions and top half is possible.
  11. I only heard United fans on the TV, even first half when it was even.
  12. Luv a 1-0 loss win…
  13. I think Wednesday put all the effort and desire that a Derby demands, and you cannot fault that, the difference is the quality of the players, it’s a different level, and no shots on target is telling, United haven’t conceded a goal at home since August, so again it was always going to be tough. my take, game plan went well first half, United stepped it up second and if needed it felt like they could even up it again of it went level.
  14. The way Hamer schooled Bannan to set up the goal…
  15. United have those extra gears to go through, and have quality all over the pitch to make the difference, buying players like Burrows for £4m was a steal, hel’ll be worth at least 5 times as much as that if Utd go up, Souza, Hamer, Ohare, the youngsters that were brought on is the biggest difference, it’s a great blend and a way to raise cash and quality.
  16. In that time Utd have been in about 8 semi cup finals… sad times
  17. As long as the team keeps picking up the odd win every three games the heat is off the fans are very fickle, nothing will change as long as Chancer owns the club, the fans need to take of the specs and think about the long term not the next win, Röhl won’t be here next season, he’s working miracles with his hands tied behind his back. then it will be league one again.
  18. Until he’s gone this club will flounder, Röhl won’t stay as he’ll be attracting all sorts of attention, can you imagine Röhl at a club with a strategy and a bit of cash? can see him going to. Norwich. Or Leeds when they sack Farke when they eventually implode
  19. Ridiculous comments, the first year Utd were back up and all the talk was how Utd we’re gonna get smashed, how did that end? the championship is a funny league, and Derbies have a habit of throwing up unpredictable results… today was a freak result the Derby WILL be a much closer affair that could go any way.
  20. Röhl won’t stick around under the depressing ownership of despot
  21. On what planet is he selling 20000 shirts….. but yes, there seems to be deep cash flow issues with the continued pushing forward with the sale of season tix and now shirts. It’s crazy that fans are so laissez faire about the last 10 years never mind the last 24, 3 top half finishes in 24 years in the second tier is alarming for a club of Wednesdays size. Whilst the club continues hand to mouth with absolutely no strategic plan (which should be the very minimum) then it’s going to continue to rot from the inside out and will continue to flounder and could end up in a desperate situatIon of survival of the club. I honestly think the best thing to happen would be for the club to go into admin, wipe the slate clean, because there’s no way Despot is going anywhere with his ridiculous selling price and stranglehold of the ownership of the ground. I could totally see Ashley coming in if the club went into admin, but there’s no way anyone is buying the club in its current state.
  22. I think I predicted 18th and I’m sticking to that.
