  1. Hard to believe we were competing at the highest level with these 30 years ago - how far have we fallen. I like the architect's comments that the 'the turnstiles are old-school turnstile' - can you imagine what he'd say about ours. Arsenal eye Wembley move as club looks at expanding Emirates stadium By Dave Rogers7 October 2025 North London club wants to take capacity at McAlpine-built ground to more than 70,000. Arsenal is reportedly looking at moving to Wembley stadium while work to expand its home of the past 20 years is carried out. According to the Telegraph, the Premier League leaders want to expand their ground to beyond 70,000 from the current capacity of 60,700. The ground, which was completed by Sir Robert McAlpine, opened in 2006 and at the time was the biggest club ground in the capital. The ground was completed by Sir Robert McAlpine and opened in 2006 But it has been overtaken by the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, built by Mace, and West Ham’s ground at the former Olympic stadium – built by McAlpine but later reconfigured by Balfour Beatty. No details of who has been enlisted to look at the job have been released but the Emirates was designed by Populous – when it was called HOK Sport – who also designed the Tottenham stadium and the Olympic stadium. The practice is considered to be the go-to firm for stadia in this country and overseas and in 2023 the firm’s global vice chair told Building the Emirates was in need of a revamp. Chris Lee said: “We could revisit it. The general admission is a bit tight. The turnstiles are old-school turnstiles. Some of the club levels have been changed, but very little in general admission.” Plans for the expansion are set to include changing the gradient of the stands, adapting the seating plan to fit more fans and potentially raising the roof. Tottenham played at Wembley for nearly two seasons while work to build the club’s new ground was carried out.
  2. Wait on - Ugbo's here.
  3. wonder how many have paid - attendance is 22,200 - 4,000 from Coventry means 18k home fans - surely must be less than 1,000 POTD, although that's too many
  4. good goal but poor defender
  5. Cadamarteri just has no pace unfortunately
  6. i doubt we show replays on the screen anymore - remember Plymouth when the ref watched our 2nd back on the screen then disallowed it
  7. my god - what is the lino thinking - should be removed from duties
  8. he didn't have to do that
  9. we attack in numbers which is really admirable but we don't have a final ball then it ends up breaking down then they attack - at least they're trying but the difference is at each end - they just have more quality so are likely winners.
  10. well done Wednesday youth
  11. I wonder if Matos a direct replacement for Hamer?
  12. He certainly seems to have got the squad gelled - great photo from last night - equal excitement and joy from the pros and youth - great to see:
  13. Is this what owls fans did in 1974/5 when rooted in the third division basement, after Leeds won the D1 championship?
  14. If the fans must go, can they please chant the 'he don't care about me' song repeatedly At least it: Acts as a protest, At least doesn't have the home fans sat in silence and, Gives the team some support, as was the case at Wrexham. Please don't though spend anything in the ground.
  15. hope they take their own biscuits
  16. They are the quintessential definition of fifth columnists.
  17. We'll get to a point where we continue to get beat on the pitch that fans have to then question 'what is this for?' I'd rather the few who do rock up actually do something - anything other than sit in silence. We perhaps need to provoke the EFL - keep protesting and force them to keep giving us points deductions - in the end it'll will expose the nonsense of the situation and hopefully shine a light on them and the role they are playing.
  18. It's up to the fans now - stop expecting others will bail us out whilst we look on.
  19. Each individual fan really need to take a look at themselves and ask what am I doing about it. Going to the Leeds game, or home games throughout this season and sitting in silence watching a group of kids and squad players get beat isn't good for your mental health - stop it. I purposely didn't reference away fans as they have a great opportunity to keep the protests going in the stands etc., and get national media attention. The sale impasse is only one persons' fault - we must changed our approach and Starve Him Out asap.
  20. all professional sport is disappearing up it's own arse.
  21. Was that Terry who was meeting Julie last Friday?
