  1. Ok then mate, I’ll leave it there. It caught you by surprise and you didn’t see it coming. And no one told you it was likely. Have a good day.
  2. But of course we knew. Wd have had brave, decent supporters campaigning outside the ground (and often getting abuse) for at least the last two years telling us this was on the cards. I wasn’t one of the campaigners, but credit to them. They saw this coming and warned everyone.
  3. Points deductions, embargoes, relegations, selling the ground, players and staff not getting paid, missed HMRC payments, bogus companies (D Taxis), monies owed to other clubs unpaid… you’re right, things were not perfect. That’s quite an understatement. Nothing that has happened this summer is new. The numerous issues have just all aligned at once. But the issues have long been there.
  4. Just been reading on X the criticism of those going to the Grimsby game, therefore giving the club (Chansiri) money. I note too that some of the most vociferous in criticising those going will attend league matches though, as if there’s not even a hint of hypocrisy in doing that. Indeed, some of those who were on TV for being at the Wadsley Bridge WMC when boycotting the Leeds game were enjoying hospitality in the Springett Suite last Saturday. Whilst criticising supporters for paying money since the summer, they’ve arbitrarily set the time frame, as if they’re saying “well I paid for my season ticket (or box) last December, so ‘cos I’ve already paid, I’m still going”. What, whilst insisting other pay-on-the-day supporters shouldn’t do? It’s as if they’ve conveniently convinced themselves that the problems with Chansiri only began this summer. Nothing has changed. The very supporters criticising others for paying to go tonight are just as culpable. You paid the man on early bird? He was as incompetent then as he is now. For those criticising those who are paying to go tonight, you will have respect if you decide to not go to any of the home games this season, despite the fact that you have effectively paid up front. Make your stance with Hillsborough only having away fans in the ground each home game. I bet you can’t because, “well I’ve already paid”. Why, were things ok back then when you put your money in?
  5. I remember that too. I was there with thousands of Owls. We were already relegated. Grant Holt scored too. His release was another mistake amongst many.
  6. According to the experts on here, he often goes missing.
  7. His better days are behind him? Really? Today he has literally just finished his best season.
  8. Some of the comments on here about Musaba are truly baffling. We win our first game at home since New Year’s Day and the two lads who scored get criticised on social media. What a club. What a fanbase
  9. We win - and it’s the play offs. We lose - and we’re looking over our shoulder at the bottom three. Do you think the reactions of some on here and elsewhere are a bit extreme? We’re having a great season - in our highest position in nine years. We have an excellent manager and a decent, hard working squad. We played very well yesterday and we will definitely get wins when we don’t expect it. Don’t write us off against Burnley and Sunderland .
  10. I agree, unless it’s the BBC and Newcastle score.
  11. Have you been on the pies?
  12. I have had the impression over the last couple of weeks that Danny is in a bit of a rush and although I’m reluctant to say he’s got a gun to the club’s head, it feels like he’ll walk if he’s not happy with the backing he gets from the owner during this window. When he took over 15 months ago he seemed to be talking of a blueprint for the future, models and an infrastructure that would take years to develop. He’s now in demand and it feels like he has to be financially backed in order for him to stay long term. I may be wrong. My concern is not only whether Danny leaves, but where the money is coming from to fund any loans or permanent signings. The club doesn’t earn any money. We already owe Mr Chansiri a reported £68 million, some of it at an interest rate of 12.5%, and pay him £2.6 million a year just to play at Hillsborough, and I fear the club will just get further into debt to him if he meets Danny’s possible demands this window (I say possible because no one knows what Danny wants). When we’ve thrown money at things in the past it hasn’t worked (Danny Wilson’s signings, Carlos Carvalhal’s time to an extent) but when we have focused on an infrastructure, stability and sustained development (Jack Charlton, Howard Wilkinson) we have seen some good years and with financial stability.
  13. Might have to put that to the committeeeeeee
