My Dad and my brother weren’t really interested in football but I started being interested in the game in 1965. The only person I knew who went to matches was my cousin David and he took me to my first game, Owls v Leicester that same year. We lost 2-1 but I was hooked. Both my sons are Wednesdayites plus a family in Geelong Australia who I played cricket with. I bought shares in the club twice and finally gifted them to Milan Manderic to help the club be more saleable in the future. Oh the irony of that action. What I can’t forgive Chansiri for is killing my love for the club for the last 7 or 8 years. However I am focused on getting this parasite out of my club because despite everything it still is my club, still your club because we understand the value of belonging to this once giant of the English game, something our current custodian will never, ever be a part of.

Just a thought but if we also owe money to South Yorkshire Police and they stop providing manpower then surely they will stop any games at Hillsborough where supporters can attend.

So many memories over the years. Stopping the Junction Pub in Huddersfield on way to many a game in Lancashire and meeting up with fans coming over from Lancashire, lots of banter but nothing more. Struggling to get up an icy hill in my mates Austin 1100 for a Boxing Day game at Grimsby. Seeing us beat Bolton 3-1 in the most end to end game I’ve seen. John Pearson scored after 13 seconds, could have finished 10-8 but for great goalkeeping at both ends, and the ref and linesman applauding both teams off at the end. Being showered with rust flakes every time the ball hit the terracing roof at Sealand Road, Chester. Gigg Lane Bury when watch one from one end and walk round the back of the stand to watch the 2nd half from the other end. My favourite away trip was always Blackburn coming from behind to win 2-1 in the promotion season was my first trip there any it’s the only ground I’ve never seen anything other than Wednesday winning.

If we invaded the pitch during the match the club could be deducted points, similarly with any game interruption like the tennis ball protest. If we just refused to leave the stadium they can’t lock us in and this would be a large enough issue for national (and maybe international press coverage) . Any way just a thought.

A few months ago I was asked to work some extra days at work. Not normally an issue with that except I didn’t get paid the extra days in my next pay day. I raised the issue and was told it was an error and would be taken care of next pay day. Ok. Next pay day not paid it again so I again raised the issue and asked to be paid what was owed immediately. I was told it was an error again but my employer could facilitate a payment without it going through. I informed they were in breach of my contract of employment and I was withdrawing my labour, something I had never done in my 50+ years of working. I was paid the extra pay 48 hours later. Striking is not something I usually endorse but it worked for me.

Promotion season 1984. A couple of pints of dark before the game. First time I remember fancy dress at a game. Drove from pub to ground with a gorilla sat next to me and in the ground a bloke dressed in a nappy and babies bonnet. Once we scored remember some of theirs on the side terrace breaking bits of concrete of the steps and lobbing the pieces at us. Happy days

I agree with him about abuse towards his family, however, he just doesn’t understand what the club means to us. Many of us have followed the club for 20 years or more ( in my case 58 years). It’s a way of life for us, we live and breathe the club, we identify with it and it’s history and traditions. Most of us come the same backgrounds of the founding fathers of Sheffield Wednesday, good honest working folk to earn enough to live but, unfortunately, not enough to buy our club. If we could afford it we would have bought it from Milan at a more affordable price than DC will be. When DC says show me how to run a football club is a childish response to the criticism he has received, he could have employed proper football people to help him nobody knows better than DC. The no more funding is his toys coming out of the pram. I don’t hate the man and I thank him for trying but it’s obvious that he is not cut out for running a football club in this country. Please Mr Chansiri put the club up for sale and just accept that you can’t be good at everything. Stick to your core business back home and enjoy your family. You obviously aren’t enjoying your stewardship of our club

I very rarely post on here but I feel I have to put my point across. I’ve supported my beloved club since 1965, been a shareholder, then purchased more shares in the 90’s only for money raised by these share issues to be mismanaged but the people in charge. I gifted my shares, as many did, to allow Milan to take over. Despite all these lows I still turned up when I was able to support my club no matter what. However this administration has done something I didn’t think was possible, they’ve made me apathetic towards the club. Following the club to such hovels as Sealand Road, Chester or Feethams , Darlington on a wet, cold Tuesday night couldn’t dampen my love for my club but Mr Chansiri and his team of advisers have. I can’t forgive for that.

I’d forgotten about the A-Z boards. When a game was postponed it would say OFF against the appropriate letter. My mates and I would hope and pray that a certain game would be called off, and we waited years for that day to arrive but it eventually did. F OFF. We thought it was brilliant. We were young but I’d probably still giggle now if I saw it again

If Mr Bruce is interested in Hugill then ok. I remember when we bought Lee Chapman who had been ok at Stoke but failed miserably at Arsenal and Sunderland. Wilko saw someone who he could depend on and would fit in with his style of play. He then brought in Brian Marwood to supply the ammo and the result was reasonably successful. My point is don't go on past reputations but put your faith in the man at the helm, he seems to know how to manage a club.

Many moons ago I was a rep and called on well known solicitors in Sheffield. The very nice lady buyer there had a Penguin ( no not him) paperback on her desk titled “What men know about women “. The book fascinated me and on one visit she was called away during my visit, so I picked up the book to have a quick read. Every page was blank so the joke was on me. In the situation here is similar and in short anyone on Owlstalk who claims to be in the know is like that paperback, no substance behind the cover
