  1. Everyone who went on the pitch is a legend. Well done to all who had the balls to do it.
  2. What's the song? I left when the fifth went in.
  3. I was at front when he ran over. His tittts were bigger than Jordan's. At the end, the players were throwing their shirts to the crowd. They were shouting for Leon to throw his but he just kept shaking his head.
  4. He started his career in midfield, so must have worn a number other than 2 then.
  5. To the promisd land?
  6. I renewed for this season on what the club said was the last day I could guarantee my seat, which was the 22nd of May. As someone else has said, if he's still on charge and the early bird has disastrous sales, he could change this so that you can only guarantee your seat in say the second phase, which would cause more outrage.
  7. Saw him at a gentleman's evening where he bragged about the 10 grand in cash he received to sign for us. Can't remember the exact story, but it was along the lines of him receiving the money, then leaving a few days later and pocketing some more cash from someone else.
  8. I'd definitely not renew early bird, maybe not at all. Was in two minds whether to renew this year. Thought the manager would leave and it would turn to poo, and also as my own mini protest. As this hadn't happened, I renewed on the last day I could guarantee my seat. About 3 days later, the current round of poo started, so my one man protest cost me £110.
  9. Just got mine through the post.
  10. He'd have been sent off for that tackle if they weren't already down to 10 men.
  11. I knew someone on the coaching staff at the time George Hirst signed his last contract with us. He told me GH and his representatives had negotiated a contract, and when it was actually produced, the terms were much worse (for him) than had been agreed. When he queried it, he was basically told to sign it or leave, so he signed it.
  12. Innovative formation from the new manager as well, playing without any defenders on the left hand side.
  13. I'd be delighted if we only ship 70 goals this season.
  14. If they don't strengthen that defence, even Ugbo might score against them.
  15. Bill was my dad's best mate, so I was big mates with Darren growing up. My sister has messaged Bill tonight and he's ok. He was more concerned that she was ok than he was about himself.
  16. Been to quite a few Whitby Town games. Cracking little football club.
  17. Why, what's wrong with old people?
  18. So what? Wishy-washy, namby pamby protests will get us nowhere. Who cares what anyone else thinks, we're talking about the future of the club!
  19. Sorry mate, but none of those things would even get a mention on Calendar.
  20. Just Stop Oil's protests are brilliant. Unusual and massively disruptive. They're carried out by people who are so passionate about the cause, they don't care if they're arrested, jailed or physically harmed. If they just waved pieces of paper, threw a few tennis balls, or boycotted their own meetings, no one would have heard of them.
  21. I absolutely do know the last bit. Based on years of buying and selling business and property, I know that if the price is low enough, someone will buy us. The price is always set by the market, and an entity is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. Anyone who sells anything wants the most they can get, and generally starts off with an unrealistic price, which is then dropped based on the interest, or lack of in the product, until the true value is reached. This is likely to be the situation we are in now. It will take time. People who've never met Chansiri and are saying he wont sell or doesnt want to, or that he wants £100m are just making stuff up. Likewise, we have no idea whether he can or will reduce the price low enough to attract a sale. If there's no club to buy, then obviously no one can buy it, and the price someone will pay reflects the value of it, not the price the owner wants, or whichever figure is made up on Owlstalk. As you say, let's hope for the best.
  22. You don't know any of that though do you? You've made something up based on information lots of other people have made up. Unless we hear something definite from a reputable journalist, or someone directly involved in the process, none of us know what's going on. What we do know, is that Chansiri is selling or releasing everyone he can in order to get money into the business and drastically reduce outgoings and improve cash flow. Its the classic behaviour of a business in desperate trouble and always ends badly for the owner. He has put significant funds into the business every year for a long time, but wherever that money was coming from, it's dried up and he can't sustain us any more. The fire sale is designed to buy him time, but the end is coming. The problem is, it will take us years to recover from the last few years regardless of how much money the new owner has, because as things stand, they cant spend any money for a year and a half, and even then, have to stay within spending limits. We're not a great proposition for anyone at the moment, but there will be someone out there who will buy us if the price is low enough and as time goes on this will become apparent to everyone concerned.
  23. I would take it to mean that Bannan won't sign a new contract whilst Röhl is the manager, so therefore won't be playing. Obviously, I've no idea if there's any truth in the original DB Sport post.
