Wednesday Coventry OMDT
Steve Down South replied to Lord Snooty's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
And I should care about that why? My club is going down the pan, can’t find any solace in what happens to Blades. -

12.30 kick off and can’t get a pint before the game? Thick as pudding, no excuse at all!! -

Excellent effort, both on and off the pitch. -
Adam Reach has still got it
Steve Down South replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
One of the better players I’ve seen turn out for Wednesday in recent years. Maybe that’s not saying much, but I liked him. Never agreed with the stick he got, in much the same way as I never believed Hutchinson was quite as good as some liked to claim. Both decent players for us in different ways. -
AI names Owls/Blades best all time XI

Dean is a good shout. Always rated Edwards as well, prolific in lower leagues, but think he got found at highest level. -

I think any selection that doesn’t include Currie (and possibly Woodward as well) lacks any credibility. -
Fair play, I misunderstood your point. Disrupting a game might be a tough one to pull off, who’s going over the top first? That said, it has to be an option for keeping the club’s position in the news.

Sounds like you’ve given up already. Or do you have better ideas to keep the club’s plight in the spotlight?

Well that draw felt like a win, very pleased for the players and manager, who seem to be working hard in an impossible position. If we can start next season in League One with new owners, a younger squad and a strong team spirit forged in adversity, there may be something good still to come out of this unholy mess.

There is none at the moment, it’s all about football survival. United’s result has no bearing on that so I’m not interested. If I was I could check the BBC website and find out, don’t really need it in the Matchday thread.

Is that really supposed to make me feel any better? Don’t understand the fascination with Blades results unless we’re in direct competition.

Why its family for me
Steve Down South replied to asteener1867's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
So sorry to hear this terrible news, can’t imagine how awful you must feel. We don’t know each other, but love to you and the family all the same. -
So true. Too thick to realise their anger should not be directed at the players and manager, this season more than ever. As others have said, this is no longer Sheffield Wednesday and only a united (so to speak!) fan base willing to protest in whatever way they can will get our club back.

It's a Battle of Wills
Steve Down South replied to Athelwulf's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
No reason to worry there - this squad will not do well. Honest endeavour for sure, but we’re going down, even before points deduction. Hopefully everyone sees it for what it is and continues to be supportive of the team. The same people who don’t support the protests and are more concerned with having a pint with their ‘mates’ or maintaining their record of having a season ticket for 40 years on the trot will be the first to turn on the players when results inevitably suffer. -
Seeing things for how they really are.
Steve Down South replied to Athelwulf's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
So can you not meet up for a pint every couple of weeks without going to the football? If he’s still here when it’s renewal time and you really want shut of him then I really can’t see it’s much of a dilemma. If you can’t find time for people away from football then they can’t be close friends surely? As for family, you can see them any time if you really want. I freely admit this opinion comes from someone who has never had a season ticket, but it seems a growing number of season ticket holders are of the opinion it’s time to take a stand. -
Bolton- Wednesday (LC 1rnd)
Steve Down South replied to Lord Snooty's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Yes, really. You might ultimately be right, but too soon to claim that he’s a far better keeper. As for bigger and better, unfortunately I don’t think there is much doubt about that right now. -

He certainly looks promising, but yet to see him make a safe that I thought Beadle wouldn’t have made. Shouldn’t forget his contribution over the last 2 seasons because he’s gone onto bigger and better things. -
AT LAST. !!! It's finally happened

Sorry, but what an awful looking shirt!
