  1. Americans are going to be watching this match, without a ticket....I know....sad but true.
  2. Always liked Fletcher, had a good overhead-kick too.
  3. I've never heard of him, don't know his position, but if he see's even the slightest angle on goal, he seems to hit the net. Not clumsy at all. Tell you this, if he does end up at Wednesday, and does what he did in Poland, the applause from Wednesday, home or away, will be considerably louder than what he's used to. Yeah, I know, Poland Leagues, but he just might be chomping at the bit, to see how he could do in the English Football League, and a Wednesday offer of employment just might be attractive to a "kid" who wants to really show what he can do.
  4. I think you're right. Thai Union, which is probably footing the bill for one of the Chansiri's having decided to play English Football, just took a 531 MILLION $'s loss here in the U.S.A. They bought a popular restaurant, seafood restaurant chain , called Red Lobster, back in 2022 I think it was, it was big news here. Two years later Red Lobster is no, more, closing down operations, after being run into bankruptcy, and the Chansiri responsible. said "we're just going to eat the loss.." I think D.Chansiri is just going to eat the SWFC loss, which to the Chansiri Family, is not much, but it keeps growing exponentially. Plus, it's bad publicity for the Family. They are tired of English Football, and probably any football, played anywhere on Earth. Wouldn't surprise me if a new owner is in the works.
  5. Way back in AD 1974, month of December, Wednesday versus Manchester United. MANU was getting their asses so badly kicked that their fans invaded the pitch, in hopes of getting a match postponement, and Mounted Police, yes, on horseback, like the cavalry, rode out and stopped that riot in seconds. The match played on, and turned out to be a 4-4 draw.
  6. Right there with You, AD 1970 was when the "addiction" started, and I am a Yank, only ever been to Hillsborough 6 or 8 times a year, from AD1970-74...YOU once posted a video on this forum, it said December 7, 1974 who was there ? I didn't even know I was "there" until seeing your post here on Owlstalk....Mounted Police, riot happening, riot quelled...match not postponed, and it ended in a 4-4 draw, I think.
  7. I ain't waiting for a penny - to - drop, because as has been said by @OneEightSixSeven, " he doesn't have a penny to drop." I agree. Rocket - up - bum, is the only thing that will work, DC thinks attendance numbers are because of HIM....this is how conceited he is. attendance numbers are because Wednesday Fans don't ever jump ship, even when the ship is severely damaged, it's got nothing to do with DC.
  8. He rides a Harley ? Sorry, a bit off-topic... I always liked Marvin Johnson, and he probably knows where he's at, at this stage in his career.
  9. Leicester....What if Wednesday " does a Leicester ", in other words, wins in the face of bookie odds at 5000:1, wasn't that the odds when Leicester did what they did in the 1st Tier a few years back, with a bunch of no-name Players ?? Don't know the bookie odds for this upcoming game with SWFC. Only in this case it'd be the Leicester Miracle for just one match, not an entire Season, and in the 2nd Tier, not the 1st. As @Highowl said previously, Owls win 1-0. Incidentally, what's Ranieri up to these days, he likes an impossible project, and we have such a project, on and off the Pitch.
  10. @GermanBird...wo bist Du ( where are you ) ?....did she get banished from Owlstalk ? Ain't seen her in a while now...
  11. Roehl just might work, from what I gather he's a "technician", well, the game is rather technical today...personally, I liked the Mick Lyons version of "technical" , but those days are gone. I'll support the new manager, until he gives reason not to....
  12. Where is he now, serious question, what happened to him ?
  13. Windass is not going to say his personal thoughts, if he wants to keep his job, even an out-of-positionS job.... I think Moore would have kept the Squad confident, and continued on with his " silent-but-effective " approach to managing a football Squad. Wednesday had some pride and momentum going...and that dope of an Owner dis-masted the ship. In years past, I have always spoken well of the Owner, but, the Moore thing has convinced me that he is not right for SWFC. Call me a slow-learner, but.... I'd love to sit down and share a few pints with Windass, and hear his real opinion of things. We fans generally only hear such opinions after the Player has retired, and is writing His memoirs.....
  14. Good God Almighty, it's the first match, with a new Manager, new tactics, a few new Players. new support staff, and about two weeks worth of " gel-time ".... This may just have been the best that the Saints will look, this season, because " failure payments " aside, from what I gather, some of their top Players won't be around for the next match, and what's that say to any top Player whom they wish they attract ? Even for the money ?
  15. @wiggy thanks for your comments. Flying is cheap these days, back in the 1960's and 1970's it cost a whole lot more...only " rich " people flew... Won't be any days lost in travel, maybe a few hours. Jet lag, well, it'll be 5 hours earlier than GMT ( England, all of it ), 3:00 PM game in England, is 10:00 AM here in our Eastern Time Zone, in other words from our Atlantic Coast to about 500 miles westward...... be 8 hours of jet-lag in California. Any travelling Fans, meaning, those Fans from other Countries coming to the Wednesday pre-season in the U.S.A. , will experience hospitality and meet some people with whom they will forever be friends.
