Ugbo can flick right off. Plastic footballer.
-
To be fair, HP dropped him for Brown who he tried to create a partnership with Cadz. When Brown gets injured it's either Ugbo back in the mix or throw in another kid. HP is using his manager's head which says surely Ugbo has a goal in him somewhere. However we need to start to listen to both head and heart which now are both agreed that Ugbo is a busted flush. His appearances going forward to Jan should be very limited and then offload. I'm done with him.

A good result today would be Wilder getting Das Boot!

Heard he's a right slippery customer who just wants to clean up - it's a no from me.

Players are looked after far better than ever before, and that's a good thing surely? To say they are softer today is a bit of a cop out. It's comparing race horses to cart horses. (Not saying former is better than latter in anyway either!) Modern era players are very finely tuned athletes and as such are very susceptible to the slightest strain, pull, twist or tear. Muscles can go ping at any time. Sports Science is exactly that - a whole new sphere of sport that has helped create super athletes across every sport. When your entire training regime was a run through Greno woods after a shift at work, then you probably could cope with being hacked down by full bodied tackles each week. Previous generations of players were my heroes, as the latest are to a new generation of fan. I don't think we have to criticise injured players to win an unnecessary argument.

100% this. Slap in face to every Wednesdayite that last game. Will never forgive. Plus 75% reduction (cough) of mega bucks for an old geezer is still a healthy wedge of cash. Although not maybe enough to run a supercar. He moved. Got what he thought he was worth and eventually had a part in Wrexham story so didn’t do too bad out of it all.

NEWS: DNA spray to be used at Sheffield derby
Warhurstsleftfoot replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I don't recall being over-policed by any actual police at any away fixture this season. I bet down at Millwall on wednesday we don't see a single police officer (there will be some there though) - and that's Millwall!! It's the club employed stewards that do the over jealous searches and treat you like an offender for the crime of walking into a football stadium. It's this that needs addressing. Although I just get on with it and accept it as a means to an end, I also feel strongly that football fans should not have to go through this. But it seems every big event now is like this. Football is a mass gathering of thousands, and we all know there are going to be some trouble makers in that crowd. I want to see police around keeping a eye on things. Last year at Hillsborough corner there were plenty of 'Owls' who could have been targeted for antisocial behaviour but left alone. We have just the same minority as any other club. Some are known to police and are monitored, and some will just be drawn into the occasion. Policing the country is a different topic altogether and for another section. It seems that many have a negative view of their role (yes, yes SYP etc) until they themselves are in a spot where they need the police. It was ever thus. (Spoiler I've often slagged them off only to be grateful they came to my aid at a live burglary and followed up a knife incident) It's an enormous topic of discussion but not helped by folks resorting to trite "why aren't they out catching real criminals?" stuff. There will be criminals amongst us on Sunday. I hope they do their job diligently. -
Here we go. Don't mention hot water, cold water, beer queues, leaking roof, too few turnstiles, too many turnstiles etc etc etc. It appears it's just a forum for talking about 442 or Ugbo's shooting boots and never about enhancing the matchday experience for zero effort. (Unless of course it was the administrators responding to the suggestions of staff and fans for the instant little wins we all praised them for!!!!) Now let's get back to chatting Sunday's starting line up. FFS!!

There is a need to wake everyone back up after the dreary half time. A good old 'Singin' the blues' knees up is just what the doctor ordered. It was great a few years ago when there was the Sheffield musicians filling out the break and no reason why we can't do that again - maybe with just a slide on the big screen showing the playlist at some point at half time. Maybe have an introducing track for new Sheffield artists with QR link. 20 chances to hear some new talent. Just thinking .....

Millwall tickets
Warhurstsleftfoot replied to Johnny Fantham's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Tickets & Travel
Yeah, each block holds about 250. Very weird putting bottom on sale first. Was going to wait for top but if/when it does go on sale I'll just return the bottom ones and buy in the top. Wondered if Millwall stipulated they were sold like this as they may try to get some home fans sat above as they are having a good season. But they do usually split the bottom section or have taken all of those seats in the past. -
Great news about hearing they are both turning 17. Believe there are lots of rules in place about 16 year old's playing men's football. Not just the betting sponsor but needing things like chaperones and separate dressing rooms. If not true then i'll get my coat after wishing them both a happy birthday. Some serious potential apparently.

Let's Get The Scrubbers Of S2 Sold Out!

£41 to sit behind a pillar ffs. Really feel for anyone who's purchased those seats. I suppose a possible alternative would be LL where it's £41 for a p*ss poor view and raining down goz. (where I was for 'bouncing day') or up in grandstand where you're looking around a concrete exit wall every time the ball goes into the box (Used to have a season ticket up there) Restricted view should be 50% off - which equates to how much of the game you'll see. As far as I'm concerned it's a sell out. A fantastic effort from all Wednesdayites. Particularly when it's the third home match in a row against poor opposition -
It's Embarrassing but Nescesary
Warhurstsleftfoot replied to mark1948's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Thought they were one of the best footballing teams to come to Hillsborough when we played them in the cup a couple of years ago. Been watching their progress/highlights ever since and they seem to be doing everything correct. Just as big an achievement as the Wrexham story but without the tinsel. -

Just logged in and it's all working normally. Are you sure you are signed in? Apologies for suggesting 'turn it off and on again' -
Ignore me. I was just messing around in the early hours as a response to MrRightSide's proposed experiment of sticking a 'random' out there. Never heard of the guy and thought it was a made up name like Emma Royd and Mike Rotch (but without laughing Sid) Apologies. It's going to be a long month ....

Don't know if there is any truth to this and certainly not ITK, but one name currently being touted around is Gerry Cardinale. Make of that what you will but I'm genuinely excited.

You may well be correct with your conclusion but a few posts on OT does not a consensus make.

Four Match Package

Hirst in blue shorts shows to me how wrong they are. Black all the way for me. And some people vote the 92/3 strip their favourite too (pinstripe sleeves/blue shorts/white socks yuk!) -

Spoiler - once you get it down your neck it's all touching. Get your beans and egg mixed together - lovely gooey mess -
Far smarter than current rimming owl. I'd love to see the old style neon signs come back. Was excited as a kid passing the lit up sign on Penistone Road back in the day. For the LL stand - that whole wall/turnstiles could be demolished and moved forward to cover half that empty space. Modern grounds only have a few metres for searches/queuing away fans. Create a proper concourse for the stand, chance to segregate 50/50 and easy to do if extending life of stand. Whole thing needs to go ideally. Don't think many would lament its passing if/when it goes.

This would be great in the 'other' triangle next to the kop. A big screen to block out the bleak vista and something that South stand and away fans can watch.
