  1. I recall going to an evening match at the ground in Cleethorpes. Can't remember the opposition, but best 0-0 match I ever saw. Must have been 1973/4.
  2. Towards the end of my career in the Civil Service I worked in HMRC and they never had the same clout that is proposed for the IFR. There is absolutely no comparison between the two organisations.
  3. My understanding is the IFR does have powers to investigate incumbent owners/ directors. I see SWFC as being a test.
  4. I haven't bothered to read most of previous posts, there's usually too much rubbish/speculation for anything to make sense. Prospective owners and directors of clubs will have to take and pass suitability tests under the IFR. Incumbent owners/directors will not automatically be tested - but the IFR will have powers test and remove incumbents should they be found unsuitable. This allows the IFR to tackle concerns about unsuitable owners/directors responsible for the financial mismanagement of clubs. In my book, Chansiri should be very worried
  5. Just been reading the Impact Assessment fact sheet, relating to the IFR, on the Dept of Culture, Media and Sport website. Under a headline " Placing fan engagement requirements on clubs and protections on club heritage" there will be a requirement for clubs to have an effective framework in place to regularly meet a representative group of fans to discuss key strategic club matters and other issues of interest to supporters, including club heritage and ticket prices. Makes complete sense to have ONE fan group to meet this requirement, SWST are the outstanding candidate, imo.
  6. Suspended animation?
  7. I have no idea how the new Football Regulator will operate but it's crystal clear decisions will have to be evidence based. As someone who has been involved in evidence gathering, it seems to me that what the SWST is doing will help provide a more comprehensive picture regarding the full nature and extent of Chansiri's mismanagement.
  8. Just read on The 72 that Owls prepared to let Wildsmith leave.
  9. Excellent post. Wish I knew the answer.
  10. Owls v Blades, early 60s, just after Cantilever stand open. Lost 1-2. Grandad a life long blade but I was hooked with the blue and white.
  11. Only match I've attended whe the whole ground was truly bouncing. Still evokes a sense of excitement!
  12. My all time favourite Owl player. As a kid I had a b&w striped shirt with no. 10 just because of him.
  13. Just for context. You've omitted Adedoyin, age 19.
