Honestly, I think part of the promble is the vocal minority on social media who reply to posts made by the Trust et. al., with rapid nonsense about not telling me what to do etc.
As we know, it is those who shout loudest who are often heard, and when such comments are deployed on any post that is a call to action, then it is going to influence a portion of the fans into thinking, yeah, ok, they have a point. Even when faced with facts, those who shout loudest just double-down and become more entrenched.
The banner that was on the fence of the park was perfect. That may seem contradictory to the above, but it was blunt, clear, and designed to shame. It didn't get the vocal ones a platform to reply and have their spiel seen be a wider audience - aside from anyone passing in ear shot, of course, which is a temporary and fleeting audience. It was a closed book. That's what we need, I think. It won't be 100% effective, but nothing ever will.
