  1. In the championship he only played 90 minutes 6 games. 13 games for over 70 minutes. Then under 20 minutes the other 5 games. So not a bad return for us. He scored some important goals, but personally was expecting a much better player for the money and his past goal scoring record.
  2. I actually seen it and thought it was very unsporting and bang out of order. Expect him to be on the bench. Depending on Ayala, expect the team to be something like. Randolph shotton friend gibson ayala or fry. Maybe Christie rb and shotton from rb to cb. Will see. Howson leadbitter traore downing braithwaite assombolonga or gestede
  3. Boro fan here. Got knows how we have lost one of them 3 home games, nevemind all 3. All 3 games we should of been out of sign by half time. Especially v villa. Fulham we lost to a pen that was never a pen. Players missing almost open goals in both matches. Brighton we played well first half and were the only team in it, missed chances again. Then conceded a deflection off Murray’s knee on 90 mins. Hopefully our luck changes.
  4. Boro fan, bloody wish you took him.
  5. Boro fan looking in purely out of interest. Rhodes in the championship for us, his record wasn't too bad. He was at the club with 19 games to go. Started 12 games, scored 6 goals. He played 18 games in total with subs appearances. Of the 18 games he played 90 minutes in 6 games. He was signed to score, add fire power and get us over the line. He did score some important goals. He was ok but wasn't much difference between him and nugent quality wise. He was never getting a look in with negredo in the premier league and is not premier league quality. He played 1161 minutes total, that's a goal ever 193 minutes. Little over 1 in 2.
  6. From someone who works for our club (Boro) and confirmed at a after dinner speech. The fee agreed on after the initial loan period was 10m. Payment wise, it was 10m if you went up or 5m this season and 5m next year if not promoted.
  7. Running costs, a stadium and training ground don't run for free. Maintenance, running costs and security. As a comparison 2014/15 yours were at 5m and ours 6.8m the same year. The away end was changed, new indoor pitch at the training ground 2015/16.
  8. You are only allowed to loose 13m (permitted FFP costs, transfers, wages ect). Promotion Bonuses don't count, and transfer add on's. Nugent 2m, Downing 2m ect. That was nearly 13m with players Promotion Bonuses. Stadium and Academy (we have a CAT A) dont count either, Cat A minimum spent on it is 2.5m. Stadium costs and training ground were around 10m. Losses under FFP are 13m and that is set in stone. The football club has separate accounts.
  9. You would most likely be quoted more than the 15m Newcastle were quoted last summer. He only had a year on his contract at the time and has signed a 4 year deal last summer.
  10. Gibson said he made mistakes last year and "wants to smash the league" so yes. He said we lacked pace and penetration and would address this. We have a good core group of players who have been there and done it. Dimi, Ayala, Gibson, Friend, Clayton, Leadbitter, Forshaw all played over 30 games in the promotion season. Defensively we were sound last year and had the best goals against in the top 5 leagues the promotion season. Last year we lacked creativity and attacking intent. We know how hard this league is but I expect we will be there or there abouts.
  11. We had the same thing when we were promoted. We didn't have parachute payments. Gibson said we wouldn't break FFP when everyone said we would when we signed Rhodes, downing ect. He was proves to be correct. We have also sold over 20m + on fringe players, Espinosa 4th choice cb, Husband 3rd choice left back, Stuani a bit part player, Rhodes to you, Fischer who hardly started a game. We still need at least a winger and a cb and maybe a full back also. Or 2 Centre backs if Gibson goes, going by WBA managers comments today, he won't be going unless a top 6 side comes in for him and we get 25m+. Sounds coming out the club back this up. He is willing to stay unless a top six side come in for him.
  12. We will buy both haha On a serious note, I am surprised Ripley (Stuart Ripley's son) hasn't been given the chance. He was League one GK of the year on loan at Oldham last year. Still only 24 so young in GK terms.
  13. Bamford will get his fair share. I know it hasn't worked out in the premier league sides. But he was championship player of the season last time he was at us. Think he got 19, playing mostly on the right in a 4-2-3-1, which monk also plays. Up front I would also take him over Rhodes any day of the week, he also has better all round game and has a lot more pace. Add braithwaite on the left or no.10 or up front. Ramierez got 7 in 18 games from no.10 when on loan at this level. That's without assombolonga, stuani, gestede. Quite excited for the season starting. Still looking at another winger, gk, cb to come in at least.
  14. No, noises coming out the club is he is staying unless a top 6 club pay £25m + Newcastle enquired about traore but put off with his £20m valuation. Ramierez is looking like he has made up with the squad and looks to be staying. Played both our friendlies so far. De roon may leave if someone pays his 10m relegation release clause. But we have 6 players for 2 centre mid positions. Clayton, leadbitter, forshaw, guideoura, forshaw and de roon.
  15. To be fair, when we didn't have parachute payments when we were promoted. Delighted with The signing, we needed pace and a different striker to gestede, stuani and Bamford. Braithwaite and Britt bring that. Just need to keep hold of Gibson at all costs.
  16. The latest news is he has been given a second chance by monk and played both pre season friendlies so far. Unless someone comes in with a daft offer he looks to be staying. Same with Gibson, unless someone pays 25m+ he's staying. Newcastle have inquired about traore but been put off with the 20m we want for him. De roon may go back to Italy if someone pays his 10m relegation release clause. But we have Clayton, leadbitter, howson, forshaw and geudioura anyhow.
  17. Think we should be there or there abouts. Gibson said he wants to smash the league. Only 9m braithwaite, 5m howson, 2m Christie so far. Expect keeper, another cb, at least another winger and a forward to come in yet. Bid 14m for assambolonga, linked to Randolph, Westwood and darlow for the gk. ojo from Liverpool is apparently close. Cb maybe Bartley or Kalas. Get something along them lines and we may smash the league. Defensively we were sound last year, just a joke in attack. We have a good core of players who know how to get promoted out of this league. Looking forward to winning games again, rather than loosing most weeks.
  18. As comparison as I expect you around the top 6 with us (Boro). This would be our likely starting lineup. 4-2-3-1 gk Ripley/dimi rb Fabio/christie lb friend cb gibson cb ayala mf clayton mf howson/de roon Rw traore lw braithwaite no.10 Ramirez fd bamford Subs fry, leadbitter, forshaw, stuani, Guedioura, gestede
  19. If Bartley is available I think he will be coming to us (Boro) after last year with monk. We have just sold Espinosa for 4m. Gibson looks like staying unless a side pays 25m+. Even if he stays that only leaves us with with. Gibson Ayala - Know you were linked to to him earlier in the summer but I'd be surprised if you paid the 15m what Newcastle were quoted last summer with a year left on his contract. He has also signed a 4 year deal since then. Fry - who played 3 games for England U20 winning side. Doubt he will be relied on for 3rd choice. Baptiste - who has never played a game for the club and was out on loan at Preston last year. Is likely to leave. Id expect either Kalas or Bartley to come in the next few weeks. Kalas was backup for Gibson and Ayala when we were promoted 2 years ago.
  20. Boro fan here. I don't think either will be going. Doubt you will sell Westwood and Newcastle inquired about Ayala last summer and were quoted 15m with a year left on his contract. He has signed a 4 year contract since then and has 3 years left. We have also just sold cb Espinosa yesterday for 4m. http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/middlesbrough-fc-transfer-news-newcastle-11436672
