  1. I think playing 3 at the back would suit our current players, it has also been successful this season with other teams and seems to be coming back in. A 3-4-2-1 is what I'd like to see. Hutch drops in to become a ball playing CB most of the time anyway. I also think he better at the back, was a CB at Chelsea and could play similar to how Luiz has this season for Chelsea. Lees one side and Loovens the other. Despite him getting on a bit th defence always seems to be more relaxed and controlled with him in the side. A true leader and brings the best out of Lees. However I'd still like a more youthful, tall powerful leader to replace him. Offer Sasso a new deal is a good back up and won't cost us a lot, plus he knows the team already. Westwood Lees - Hutch - Loovens/new CB Hunt - Lee - Abdi - Reach FF Rhodes - Hooper Like to see Abdi play more, think the games he's started CM he's looked good. Rotate him with a tough tackling CM like Chelsea have done with Matic and Fabregas depending on opposition. Will also give the strikers better service. FF in a free role allowing him to run at defenses and cause problems. Not a massive fan off Reach but payed a lot of money for him and think he can do a job. Would like to see several new players myself but with the amount we've spent previously i can't see it. Also why don't we utilise the players we've got. Rhodes and Abdi have been poor but they are quality players. Form is temporary, class is permanent.
  2. Who are proven at this level sorry.
  3. I'm seeing a lot of posts regarding who we need to sign for next to season. I personally really don't think this is the main issue. Yes I could pick positions out where I think we need to strengthen but it's not the priority for me. looking at this season and last season, the teams that have succeeded have all had a goal scorer. Instead of getting new players, get the best out of our current players who aren't proven at this level. A lot of the goal scorers in this league don't score good or even hard goals. But the manager gets a team to play a certain way to get the best out of them. Look at wood, Murray, Kermorgant, Abraham. This season is also proof that having the best of squad on paper doesn't always work. Newcastle weren't as dominant as expected and villa flopped with arguably the best squads in the league. Then there's us, on paper we should have walked the play offs. It's clear to me all you need to get out of the championship is a manager who has a style of play which gets the best out of his players. And then a goal scorer. I think our problem lies with Carlos, we have multiple goal scorers but fail to get the best out of them. I believe any manager, probably in the top 9 this season get Wednesday promoted. Next season let's develop a squad who can play together, attack teams, be tight at the back and scores goals. For me, this comes from another manager. A change of style, play and formation.
  4. It was a long game!
  5. He's not going to drop down to the Championship. He's done an excellent job and wouldn't be surprised if a bigger premier league picks him up. Heard Southampton may be interested
  6. Need someone who's not a nice guy, Carlos appears to be to soft. However I can see us getting someone like Karanka, if he doesn't take a role at Man U along side Mourinho
  7. I'm still devastated - and I probably will be for a very long time. It seems to hurt more this year as we expected it to happen, last year being underdogs and all. It hurts more with how unlucky both occasions have been. A unstoppable screamer at Wembley last season and a penalty shout out last night. But the simple truth is we haven't been good enough, dare I say it. I think over the two legs Huddersfield probably deserved it. Which pains me to say because when I look through their squad it shouldn't be achieving what they've achieved. But it goes to show how far a good manager can go, someone who's passionate and has a clear style of play. I said before last nights game that it would be won or lost in the wide areas. They posed a threat out wide in the first leg. Then when the starting 11 was announced I was more concerned. When you play Bannan or Lee out wide it exposes the wing back. Naturally their centre mids so they drift inside a lot, which isolates your wing back. Even more so when the wing backs are bombing on. I would have started two out and out wide men, but hey ho what do I know. I think the Wallace injury changes the game. Reach comes on and plays poor for me, didn't offer much and him and Pudil had a torrid time on that left hand side second half. A long with a central player out wide the other side, you knew they'd create something. But the frustrating thing about the Wallace injury was the waste of a sub that we so desperately needed. Lee, Hutch and Fezzi all played for 120 minutes. When was the last time one of them completed 90 minutes? So when it went in to extra time we was already at a disadvantage against a very fit Huddersfield team. So it was either replace a midfielder or bring on a striker and go for it? I'll get to that later on. I also think that Hogg their number 6 was lucky to still be on the pitch. He was carded early on and made several fouls after that which in my opinion could have been yellows. But that's out of our control so we carry on. I didn't like how early he brought Fletcher off, I feel that was another sub wasted that could have been utilised in ET. Rhodes didn't really do anything that's Fletch couldn't and he didn't seem tired. So at around 65 minutes we have one sub left when Huddersfield haven't made on change yet. Then when we made our final change I was scratching my head even more. We had just been getting destroyed down the left hand side so we take our left back off? Put Reach there who played awful all game defensively. Then have an unfit fezzi out wide to try and help him out? Doesn't make sense to me. Then when it was Nuhiu who came on, what was the point? I've never seen someone that tall miss time or lose as many headers in my life. At that stage in the match surely you'd look to your bench for someone who could take the game to Huddersfield, Winall maybe? Or atleast someone who your confident is going to step up and take a penalty. I just can't get my head around Carlos' changes. I don't know, he clearly knows more than me but it didn't work? It didn't even seem like we had a game plan or tactic like it's looked for so many games this season. I think Carlos has done an amazing job and I'm not against him at all. However, I think we will see a mutual termination of his contract in the coming weeks. I think we need a clear out and a few quality players need to brought in. Hopefully we don't turn them bobbar like we seem to do ever so regularly. But we bounce back and go again next season!
  8. I don't think getting the ball and just booting it up field is a tactic though. Keeping possession would help with the overall tactic off being good defensively. As again previously stated, it's easier to defend when the other team has the ball.
  9. I haven't mentioned alternative tactics at all hahahaha hahahahah. Just said I'd like to have us keep the ball more and atleast test there goalkeeper. Whilst keeping disciplined. Don't think anyone can argue with that
  10. No don't think I'm saying that at all really, as I previously stated, I understand he had a plan. Not hard, don't read into things to much
  11. When did I say it was the wrong think to do by wanting to keep a clean sheet? Just said how we made it harder for ourself by not keeping the ball. If your going to try and have a dig atleast read the post properly
  12. Tom Lees - didn't put a foot wrong. Solid at the back, don't think he lost a header all game either. Need him and Loovens to play like that again on Wednesday
  13. Yeah obviously, otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it
  14. Many will argue today's result was a good result. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not disappointed with the result. I just hope the pressure of having to do the business isn't to much, and a draw is obviously a better outcome and should make for a better winner takes all match. Despite how well we defended today I'm slightly disappointed with the performance. Those performances aren't going to get us to the premier league. Yes we proved we can be resilient and can defend, and it's always going to be easier to win a football match when you keep a clean sheet. However, your not going to win a match when you fail to have a shot on target all game. I understand Carlos had a game plan and that's the way we played. But surely the best form of defence is to keep hold of possession? How can teams hurt you when they haven't got the ball? That's what frustrate me today, we never once looked like playing football and the odd occasion we did it was in the wrong areas. It was obvious Hooper was a massive miss but we've got a good enough squad to deal with it. I'm delighted that we're still in with a chance but hope to see more passes connected and more attacking on Wednesday. Huddersfield are there for the taking, we've proved we can defend. Now let's go out there and show we can play some lovely football and score as well. I'm more nervous for Wednesday now, but at the same time I can't wait! Come on Wednesday!
  15. I for one love the bloke! Hopefully he stays next year regardless of whether it's as a player or as a coach. Think another Semedo day is order like at Forrest a few seasons ago. Maybe this is something we could do for Wembley (if we get there). What's everyone thoughts?
  16. Hahahahah hahahahahaha
  17. All games that were big occasions. Obviously the atmospheres going to be good for big occasions. I'm talking more in general terms
  18. Is it just me that hates home matches when we sell out? I know yesterday was a poor game anyway with no importance to both teams so was never going to be amazing. However I always feel the atmosphere at sell out home matches is worse than an average crowd. Part-timers just turn up and expect the fans to chant flat out for 90 minutes. Then call the loyal fans out for not singing
