Before we start thinking about a new manager, the new owner needs to have clear philosophy on how he wants the team to play. Appoint a director of football who can recruit players who can play the desired style of play. Then get a manager that plays the way the players have been recruited for. Gone have the days that you get a manager in and 'he needs his own players'. Brighton do this perfectly!

I'm not angry we've lost 3-0, I'm angry at the manner of the defeat. -

Your right, but its a lack of quality that's DC's fault. But today was a lack of desire and fight amd thats on the players! -

Absolutely pathetic. Fusire Ugbo Jamal Lowe and Valery were pathetic! Ways to lose but that was a disgrace -

There closing us down and we can cope! We hit it long and won nothing. Ugob and Fusire have to come off. Im bring Cadz and McNeil on putting Valery to RWB. -

Give me a new ground with unrestricted views, large concourse, and not having to spend all half time getting a pint, getting soaking wet when it rains! -

The 'soulless bowl' new ground debate
jonnyowl replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I like the new Real Zaragoza's new stadium, 43,000 capacity. Id just have a single tier stand behind one of the goals for our Kop! -

The 'soulless bowl' new ground debate
jonnyowl replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Soulless bowls I've been to; Leciester Southampton Hull Coventry Derby Pretty much single tier bowls with no imagination in their design. But stadium design has come on a long way since they were built and depending on our new owner, how much could we spend on a new stadium. I would argue that we are historically bigger clubs than those so a larger capacity than those could be filled if we make it to the Premiership. We you see videos of Everton, Tottenham new stadium and some of the NFL stadiums especially some of the hospitality and fan zones, i'd love a new stadium. Real Zaragoza's new stadium would be a good blueprint to start with. -
My guess would be Cooper and Dennis! Think we need a midfielder though

Played 90mins for England U19 this evening against Lithuania, they won 2-0.

stuff like carries into box, short passes v long passes. There are certain metrics that successful championship clubs have in common. Ipswich met those metrics when promoted from league one, continued it in the championship. TWFootball1867 will know way more than myself, he actually tipped Ipswich for promotion that season.
-
Ipswich is the way to do it, though they have an exceptional manager in Mckenna. They got back to back promotions because if you look at the data when they were in league one, they were more like a top end championship side, where as our data showed we were a top league one side. TWfootball1867 on X explained it all. Ive said that we best case scenario we have the likes of Charles, Weaver, Fusire, Cadz, Brown and maybe one or two other young players we can build a squad around.

New stadium! Look at Everton's new stadium and Tottenham. Obviously capacity wise we dont need that big. Something like Real Zaragoza's new stadium would be ideal!

Mike Ashley preparing a bid
jonnyowl replied to ChrisWaddlesMullet's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Dont want Ashley or Textor for that matter. But think Ashley will want it on the cheap, if others bid and the price increases he wont get into a budding war! -
If we some how can get a new owner in before Jan and are able to keep the youngsters, we could do alright in league one. Charles, Weaver, Cadz, Brown. Hopefully players like Fusire, Thornton and Johnson keep improving and all of a sudden there's a decent core to build a side around for league one! In a perfect world we start on 0 points and have the transfer fee ban reduced to 2 windows on appeal.

Administrator being interviewed on Talksport around 09:15.
jonnyowl replied to darra's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Don't forget though, the administrators have to accept the best bid for the creditors, as long as they can pass the fit and proper persons test and prove they can make the company viable. -
More points deductions, inevitable relegation and poor home form means attendances will drop. I hope though with the right owner, sensible season ticket prices and easing of embargos then we could still get 20k season tickets sold for league one. Top end of Championship we should be aiming for 30k every week! It will take time but doable!

Not convinced by Textor though do think hed want us in Premiership but hoping for a more exciting options
