  1. Yeah but Ugbo wasn’t broken then and it was the right thing to do to try to get him firing - Röhl gave up in him after Xmas…
  2. Would have still contributed 400% more than Ugbo if that plane had crashed and he came back with two broken legs…
  3. Ordinarily I agree. I don’t think they did try their hardest today. They should have crawled off that pitch with blood turned to water - apart from Amass not sure any did. We aren’t saving our selves for anything. We aren’t preserving legs for the “relegation fight”. We are down. That was the only game that mattered and the players and manages definitely did not give their best
  4. I didn’t think we would win today but the manner of the defeat and lack of fight was unforgiveable They didn’t get out of second gear. I think most fans are p i ss ed off about that rather than the loss per se…
  5. Serious question. Why? What about his tactics or motivation makes you think that. We would be better playing McNeil than Ugbo - frankly anyone but him. This was the biggest game of the season for us (the only one that mattered) why not play your more effective players. Cadz is definitely not a young David Hirst but he offers way more than Ugbo. That is inarguable. It’s like starting with 10 men with Ugbo (or 9.5 if you chuck in Lowe’s risible performance today. Yes today IS on Pedersen (clearly was unable to move or motivate that team to put a performance in) just as much as it was all the players but he set them up like that - he played that formation and he encouraged them to play possession based passing out from the back with players that are so unsuited for it it makes me think he absolutely is not the one to take us forward. The idea as some have suggested that he was the “brains” behind Röhl is frankly laughable
  6. At least they could fill that one occasionally…
  7. This - even though the players absolutely let us down massively today people should stay ti the end - an act of defiance if nothing else
  8. Maybe but that starting 11today, playing Ugbo at all, consistently trying to play champagne football with lemonade players and failing to apparently get the players up for fighting in a Derby means for me he isn’t going to be the right person for the job… Tactical astuteness was certainly not in evidence in the way we set up today…
  9. But let 2 in he should easily have stopped so he nearly made it a rout…
  10. This The players badly let him down today but he has contributed massively. Done a good job in getting the players to even turn up but needs to go ASAP once new owners are in…
  11. Yes he is but he is also unpinning a hand grenade and rolling it into the that squad by starting Ugbo ever
  12. In any other game this season I agree Mark - but today needed to be different. It was the only game that matterwere a this season to most and both the manager and 90% of the players absolutely pooed the bed Sad thing is it was utterly predictable - as soon as that starting 11 is named with Ugbo in it we have lost - like starting with 10
  13. But Ugbo isn’t even the question - play two up top and give McNeil a run (I don’t think he looks good enough either but giving him 10 minutes here and there and not playing him in his preferred role is not going to help find if there is a player there) IMO neither Ugbo nor JLowe should pull on our shirt ever again
  14. I agree with the OP but describing Lowe as a willing runner is a stretch. We can curse Chansiri but that was not an acceptable performance/level of commitment today - our only game that matters this season and all bar Amass and Bannan from the starting 11 turned up. The only thing we could have done to them was outfought or outran them - we did neither Pedersen is part of the problem there too. That was a disgraceful team selection and set up and the tactics of trying to play “proper” football with the limitations of this squad is obvious to anyone who’s eyes aren’t painted on Very disaappointing day
  15. Easy then - we sack everyone and get in a completely new squad. That’s not going to be a problem at all…
  16. I think it’s a good hunch - but it would p*** me off - it’s not a serious appointment - might as well dig up Don Revie if you want an ex England manager - would have similar tactical acumen to Southgate as well…
  17. God forbid. Would rather have Chanser still here than have the Fraud in a waistcoat as our manager…
  18. Yeah but Reading weren’t in the state we are in now for 4 or 5 seasons - we have already had the same steady decline Reading did before it got desperate for them - it’s now desperate for us - e don’t have a few seasons…
  19. Very sad news RIP Milan
  20. I’d rather play Giles Brandreth there…
  21. Not true. Some of their fans did -but not all / when the absolute majority stopped going it worked - No owner can survive a complete boycott if you really are Wednesday just stop going. FFS in the words on the Godlike Bryan Ferry “Let’s stick together”
  22. Do the c n u t s who went tonight call it a day. This is not infighting. You are killing our club…
  23. Well they at least bought a scarf Trev
  24. I didn’t think I would ever love a Wednesday number 9 as much as my avatar but then Greggers came along and nearly knocked Banno off. Yes Hirsty will always be the best but Gregory really have everything when he pulled on that shirt. Lots of great memories- MK Dons away (the Bannan worldie game) when the “He’s our striker song was staring to get real purchase amongst the fans). Obviously the POF assist and his brilliant performance in the Peterborough home leg but I remember Portsmouth at home last game of the season we didn’t go up. He was unplayable - showed Hirst junior what a real centre forward does. Got as big a standing ovation when he was substituted as Incan remember. He walked off the pitch on the North Stand side then round in front of the Kop - 28,000 fans singing HIS song. That must have felt good sorry it didn’t end so great (fwiw I think Röhl got it wrong that season not playing him) and once again a massive Chancer piece of negligence robbed Greggers of half a season of his career. He may have been a blade (he wasn’t) who cares? Once an owl always an owl. He was our striker our number nine… Have a great retirement Lee
