Trust Call For Full Boycott Against Middlesbrough
WhiteOwl91 replied to TZOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I hope those ST holders who have been pressing non-ST holders not to go support the trust with this. (Personally its hard all your pals (ST) still going to games and having to stay away not to fund the bloke) but ive understood it has to be done. Albeit i get you're never going to get a full consensus and lots will still go. Ultimately one man is the problem and i just hope this comes to a head sooner rather than later. -
£130,000 salary for a three-day week!!!
WhiteOwl91 replied to OxOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
As someone else said you get paid for your expertise and experience. Peopl are also assuming they clock in and clock off on those 3 days a week and thats it... Lets be honest they're going to be doing things on the other 4 days as well. Can't imagine them not replying to emails calls etc for 4 days! -
Looks like Bannan actually tried to get the stewards to let fans back to the stands and not drag them off
-
Must admit as someone who had a ST for years and stopped last year for separate reasons, all my mates still have one and go...Its kind of grating that they're getting to meet up and go to the game every other week and im 'not allowed' because id have to buy a ticket and thus be funding chansiri. Can't take my kid either and it worries me he will lose interest. Now i totally understand and support why, for instance i wont land a penny in DCs pocket, but the longer this drags on the harder it gets personally. But soon ST holders are going to have a very hard decision of their own to make, because ST renewal time will somehow be here before we know it and I have no faith DC will be gone...

What's your thoughts on Dave's opinion here?
WhiteOwl91 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
It's absolutely boring. based on style Its also boring that the top 6 or so have so much money, its more or less a closed shop for who can win the Premier League anyway, so whats the point? Even American Sports we have rubbished over the years (for being a franchised closed shop), at least they have a salary cap and the same teams dont win decade after decade after decade. The worst team really can win it all in a few years time. Feel like ours sometimes might as well be a closed shop franchise system because the money model and P&S has more or less made it a closed shop for who can win anyway. -
I hear people say he's an arse quite a lot, he's not short of confidence in himself and certainly speaks his mind if thats what it means... But he cant be seen as that much of one as Wrexham made him captain straight after hes been out with injury.

Wrexham Black and Gold shirt vs ours
WhiteOwl91 replied to LewishamOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
It was about £20 wasn't it? Also tbh, I dont see anything wrong in people having collections of football shirts. Sure, you wouldnt expect a Wednesday fan to wear a Leeds, Pigs, Barnsley etc shirt, but football is football. See loads of people wearing random retro shirts too not just from their club -
Employing ETH to begin with was mental. To still employ him, give him all pre-season then sack him after 2 games is just a monumentally stupid and terrible way to run a football club.

Confess your unpopular opinions regarding SWFC

Knocking around with the likes of Mad Gary Madine and co tanked Rhys McCabe's career. -
Maybe he knows were going down, but is hoping new ownership happens this season and next season he can lead us back up and still finish here on a high.
-
I can assure you if we’re bottom of the table and nailed on to be relegated on top of the current problems, things will turn far far nastier and more people get on board.
-
I honestly think the young lads performances the first few games has actually dampened to the protest movement. Because those who weren't on board with protests see them doing so well (which is commendable btw) and 'things arent that bad' A few 0-4s and a points deduction and maybe things will change en masse. It's hard init. Because of course we want the young lads, senior players etc to do well because none of this is their fault and its Sheffield Wednesday. We just want the owner gone. But i dont know what its going to take for the remaining fans to get on board.

Appeal to Hedge Fund Leaders on US TV
WhiteOwl91 replied to Daz's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
To add, I also don't see how many hedge funds are going to be buying a football club to lose lots of money. That's completely the opposite of their intent. No one is paying that idiot Chansiri any more than the club is actually worth, let alone £100m for something worth less than half of it. Also below the books theres lots of different ways owners make their money and investment work for them. Inflation and rise in club values (i.e. Dallas Cowboys were bought for $140m in 89', now worth $10bn), marketing, publicity, supply chain alignments and moving financials around. -

The Birmingham Documentary, their owner literally outlines that they want to make money by getting the club to the Premier League. -
Who do we want in the next round

It’s gonna be a big club at home isn’t it. -

Mega Rich people aren’t spending £100m on a business worth no more than £30m. That’s not how they got their money in the first place. -
There would be the odd exception IMO... Not in excess of 4100 exceptions though. That’s total b*ll*cks. And as good as the young lads performing and winning is, you just know it’ll reinforce those fans view of why they turned up.
-
Genuinely baffled theres going to be any home fans for this game.
-
This assumes they have any morality about them whatsoever. They'd have to care about people to be embarrassed by whats going on, right? Because thats what the impact here is, the club, but more importantly the people involved (staff, fans etc) You've seen the distain Chansiri has for 'customers', so its not farfetched to think he's got that from somewhere. To his family its just a business, theyve probably had loads of businesses go bang in the past and off they go to the next one. Probably don't give a hoot. His family is probably more bothered about making up for the Red Lobster fiasco and what that cost their company.

Westwood back for one last season?
WhiteOwl91 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Screw it. Probably not going to win a game all season anyway, may as well have some nostalgia with it if we cant pay anyone to come in . -
I’m glad we’ve lost today
WhiteOwl91 replied to sheffield_dave's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Its a hard one. Because nothing will ramp up the protests like SWFC losing games. If it wasnt for performances last season, it'd have ramped up then. But winning does dampen the anger and the protests, whether people want to accept it or not. Conflicted tbh. -
Is this starting to play out nicely for Chansiri?
WhiteOwl91 replied to RUMBELOWS91's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
The running costs of an infrastructure like ours make that impossible. It’s like a 2001 Range Rover with 179,000 on the clock. -

Not with stadium and infrastructure like ours it’s not.
