  1. Instructions should be to boycott ALL games until he's gone. The current level of protest is not working. The trust need to go harder.
  2. Just want to say well done to everyone involved. Fantastic to see the BBC pick up on it. Exactly the type of thing we should be doing to bring national and international attention to the cause. Massively appreciate the efforts
  3. Totally agree. The supporters trust are doing a great job and have my utmost respect, but there is space for a more radical element of our fan base who are prepared to push the boundaries more and even carry out protest actions that are on the wrong side of the law. By that I'm talking about pitch invasions, graffiti, ripping out those bloody seats in the north that spell Chansiri etc. No one will condone this publicly, especially official bodies like the trust and I completely understand why but friendly and peaceful protest is just not effective enough.
  4. The COVID season finished after the expiry of some players contracts. Because we were in danger of going down we couldn't renew those contracts as we didn't know what our finances would be like the year after. Fletcher among others decided not to take a short term contract extension to finish the season and risk injuring himself and ending up without a club for next year. I don't think that's unreasonable personally. If I remember correctly Kieran Lee was the only one who played on after June.
  5. I phoned up and they said any tickets not collected in advance will be taken to Bolton for collection there
  6. Only option on the site is to collect from ticket office. Does that mean the Wednesday office or Bolton's?
  7. Maybe it's just me but does it look out of proportion? Like the head and chest are bigger
  8. In all seriousness, is there any plan yet for a protest on the 16th? I'll be making the trip to make my voice heard but would like to know if there is any organisation around where to go etc.
  9. Stop trying to talk fans out of positive action to get rid of Chansiri. Thai Union and the Chansiri family will be among the VERY few people that can influence him, and they will if their business starts to be affected by what he's doing. This could well be the most effective way of bringing about change at our club.
  10. Yeah I expect the EFL withholding the TV money has come as a shock and he expected to be able to pocket it
  11. Yeah, the money that they hand out at least i.e. TV money, but they won't have control of player sales and ticket/merch receipts... as meagre as that is now
  12. Exactly. He's not just got his head buried in the sand. My guess is fire sale of assets, trouser the money as a repaid debt to himself, then fold the club and sell the stadium for redevelopment
  13. As stupid as he might be (and he clearly is to be in this situation in the first place), there must be a plan to get out of this with something. Tens of millions of pounds is never just let to go to waste, no matter how rich someone is.
  14. I wonder if the intention is to fold the club, wipe the slate clean and walk away with the stadium, or more importantly the land. Seems like selling the stadium for redevelopment i.e. flats or a supermarket or something is the only way he can come out of this with anything, and thats why he won't/can't sell the club because no-one will buy unless the stadium is included in the price.
  15. Disagree. Wider awareness of our situation is our best way out of this. Firstly, because the more publicity we get, the more pressure the Chansiri family will put on Dejphon to sell. Whether or not TUG is involved in the running of our club, it will forever be linked to them as long as Chansiri is in charge, and they will not tolerate damage to the brand. Secondly, it increases the public humiliation of our owner. Everyone has a limit, and the more people he becomes a pariah to the more likely he is to throw the towel in and write off any potential money he thinks he will get. We are a big old club with an iconic ground and an interesting name, and we were an exciting team in the 90s, when people have rose-tinted memories of football in England. Lots of neutrals are very fond of us, and there will be big questions asked throughout the footballing community if it looks like we are going to go under. We are not a Bury, Morecambe or Macclesfield
  16. Dany N'Guessan was heavily linked before going to Leicester Real sliding doors moment i guess, looking at what they've gone on to do
  17. Nice kit. Has a retro feel about it with the Macron logo
  18. In summary for those that don't get it... Our kind, well-intentioned but sadly ill-advised owner has taken our stadium as payback for all the money HE spaffed on the likes of Rhodes, Abdi, Emanuelson etc. Now why would he want to do that I wonder? Maybe because it's the only thing left in the club that will be worth something when his disastrous reign comes to an end here. Now follow it through... how does he make his money back on it? Crippling rents?? Sell it back to a new owner?? (We know well how demanding a seller he is). Or develop the land into residential/commercial property. Either way we've been done. Lost our ground for nothing, and there's nothing we can do about it now. Make no mistake the asset stripping process of Sheffield Wednesday is well underway, and plenty saw this coming.
  19. We need it to widen the net wider than Sheffield. DC will not care about a banner around Hillsborough. Did you read what I wrote. This wouldn't be for pedestrians walking by the stadium. The imagery of a Chansiri out banner hanging outside his own stadium would be incredibly powerful, and nothing he could do about it. Imagine one on the front/roof of one of these houses (if I've managed to upload the picture correctly!).
  20. Exactly, the number of people in here talking down any suggestions of protest... Boycotts are not going to work. If losing money was enough to get him out he'd have gone years ago. He needs to be publicly shamed and to do that we need to get the attention of social media and mainstream news.
  21. Does anyone on here own a house right by the stadium, Leppings Lane, Vere Road or Penistone? A huge "Chansiri out" banner overlooking or in front of the stadium would send a strong message. Images of this would spread quickly on news sites and social media, and publicly humiliate Chansiri. This is what we need to be aiming for. I would be happy to contribute to the cost of the banner and set up a crowd funding to pay the rest. Obviously finding the best location is most important
  22. I quite enjoy the hellraisers... Johnson, Rogers, Vine etc. Maybe they're not as annoying when you're only listening to them. Weaver's I enjoyed, also Michael Gray speaks well and has good stories. As with many on here, Ben Marshall was a complete shock. I thought he was just a quiet lad. It explains how his career has gone though. Sedgwick was boring as hell.
  23. I think there will be a slump as some will inevitably realise how much time and money you get back without going to football. Any subsequent recession from the pandemic will also play a part. It will come back as before though. People used to go to matches for good reason, and most will get the 'bug' again. New fans are always coming along, and Wednesday's challenge will be to get them on board. Unfortunately we seem to be doing everything we can at the moment to drive fans towards our local rivals
  24. Just listened to that podcast this morning. He singles out JJ and particularly, Leon Clarke. Chris Sedgwick has also spoken about JJs lack of professionalism on the same podcast. That Laws team was getting away with murder by the sounds of it, and Irvine couldn't straighten them out.
  25. This club is a disgrace
