  1. I think brunt would qualify maybe? Would have games where he was completely anonymous but then could pull some absolute magic out the bag to win the game
  2. Looking at the list of free agents there's a couple of surprises, though they're probably out of our budget/probably wouldn't come. Oxlade chamberlain is the big one of these, only 32 and could absolutely do a job in the prem yet hasn't been picked up. There's a few major names that are now getting quite old, like Aaron Ramsey who would be incredible for the youngsters to learn from as well, though with only two transfers available I'd rather get players who could play plenty of matches for the remainder of the season.
  3. And for a bloke who was injured so much to say how much he enjoys a half hearted warm up
  4. It's a tough one this isn't it? New owners often come in and like to put their own man in charge. If they were to do that we just have to hope they've got their heads screwed on right, or klopp owes them a favour, and we don't end up with a Rooney at Birmingham situation. Or better yet, they appoint actually competent football people in directorial positions who will make a well informed choice. That said, I also think HP has done a good job considering the circumstances, and should be given a chance
  5. Definitely not while they're still playing, god forbid they leave us and sign for the pigs.
  6. Having googled it he's referred to as a boyhood fan in a lot of places, including the BBC. It makes sense that if his cousin played for us while he was young he would support us, people have much more tenuous reasons for the clubs they support, (My uncle supports QPR because his school team played in blue and white hoops).
  7. He did do that, and then sacked them all a few months later
  8. This is my biggest hope, because even though he's gone now I still don't think I can justify the price with everything I've got on (young family etc). Ideally prices would be a tenner less for the lowest category matches at least. But I think take the little one to the park soak in the atmosphere around Hillsborough will be fantastic and I'm buzzing for today.
  9. Ah yeah of course, always forget Antonio started as a loan for some reason
  10. Yeah that's the one. I did the same thing toying between Lopez and Sanchez, and wondering if I was just being a bigot
  11. He's definitely up there. Off the top of my head the only ones who come close are mellor, batth, and pudil. (I can't seem to remember if Ben10 was a season long loan or just half a season or he'd be here) Then a tier below id have venancio and that Spanish midfielder we had in the season we lost to hull in the playoffs ( who made such an impression I can't remember his name, but remember him being a decent player). Shea is probably the best player there, and maybe it's just nostalgia, but mellor is my favourite of the lot.
  12. To add to this, all done without some mega rich billionaire owner pumping money in, (not saying the owners aren't healthy, or even billionaires, but spurs are more or less self sufficient)
  13. Watched a couple of his games in the first team towards the back end of last season, and overall, and I think he'll do ok, even if I've got some reservations about him. Though the reservations are less important in our current situation. He's technically pretty good, seemed to lack a bit of confidence going forward, but then again man utd did in general last season, and he was a teenager playing in front of 70k, but did seem willing to keep getting forward as much as possible. Hopefully he can gain a bit of confidence by playing regularly and we might have a gem for the season. He is a bit lightweight which is again to be expected for his age, and looked a bit suspect defensively. It's a shame ikiekwe was let go, as he probably needs that strong leadership next to him to guide him. Again this is based on maybe three matches I happened to watch a few months ago, but he had enough about him for me to at least take note.
