    Agreed. I’m a fan of Bannan but he’s not a hero for turning up, he’s still technically under contract and has been told to go to work and his advisors would have told him so.

    What does he expect when we don’t know what division we’ll be in next season? A fair few of that 14 have to take some responsibility for the situation we’re in which causing the ‘unhealthy’ situation.

    The main point in this is they are able to because they’ve sold players at a high value so they can re-invest. Think they got about 38 million for 2 players alone. Our recruitment is so myopic and haphazard we’re never, ever in this position.

    He’s been a great servant to the club and obviously cares. But he’s been captain over one of the worst periods of the clubs history and earned a fortune in the process.

    Our issue with recruitment is it shouldn’t be done on the whim of the owner or the manager. It needs to be done with a clear strategy in place owned by a DOF or the like. So if a manager goes the strategy continues. until this happens we’ll keep ending up with dead wood and players we can’t shift.
