  1. Really sad to hear. Big bro went to school with him and up to a couple of years back, we used to park up at Nev's house and he'd then drive us in to the Wednesdayite car park. Hadn't seen hiim for some time sadly. Memories of some rea fun moments and forthright passionate views on both football and politics to look back on for sure. RIP Nev.
  2. Yep, please do, because I and probably a good few others can't make the connection between Hirst attending the 150th dinner and the financial status...
  3. Is it like Club 18 30? Count me in!!
  4. Retrieving lobsters from Jane Mansfield's bum... lovely sweet girl
  5. Waddle - we badly need some forward midfield distribution with telling balls into the danger zone and offer alternatives on dead ball kicks.
  6. Huddersfield... that well known hotbed of seething football passion... If it keeps them happy... bless!
  7. Huge attendance... price of membership gone down in FIFA?
  8. Just asked a Dutch guy who works for me and he's a massive Ajax fan. He echoes some of the other comments in the thread. "Was a very decent player in times of Ajax and AC Milan. But defensive he wasn’t too good and he is playing leftback in those days…. Was great when he was able to come up on the wing. Believe never convinced abroad and hence been moved around a lot (hired out to other clubs, 1 year here and there etc). Good luck!" Mmm!!
  9. Can't believe what I read sometimes.
  10. Standard business practice, why wouldn't DC want to protect his and the clubs interests like any other business? Would actually help if he put something of note into the club shop mind... Maybe it's a lead into Palmer taking more of an interest in the unmegastore!!
  11. Shouldn't Weeds be top? They have been and always will be the dirtiest team in football and no stats required for that - it's tradition!
  12. This!! it has always been and always will be mum's meat and potato pie, peas and relish. There wasn't anything else back in the day, so it was only relish. as for Sheffield, I left S5 about 42 years ago when I was 9 and moved darn sarf... the only thing that connects me to Sheffield these days is the Owls and that will never get knocked out of me and I'll be there on the Kop, on Sunday.
  13. They probably do match, but being different material, they'll be reflecting the camera flash differently. I expect in natural light they'll be the same.
  14. Well... looks like the long awaited Friday Shitstorm has arrived...
  15. Shame the club didn't get to unveil it first. Think it might be the away shirt for me this year then! The home is like Chelsea of the nineties...not sure it's right for Wednesday.
  16. Pretty sure it might drown them out for once...
  17. Do you have visions on the lottery by any chance?
  18. Stow on the Wold - Cheltenham postcode...
  19. Think you'd be hard pressed not to pick Waddle as a Wednesday player for that deceptive lumbering run up the wing that gives the forward line chance to push the opposition defence back. Then to hang a cross into the box. For outside Wednesday, I'd have to say Johan Cruyff... watching him in the 1974 World Cup was something special and really fanned the football flames for me - let's face it in 74, Wednesday were hardly likely to. Maybe even Roberto Carlos as a wing back? Oh I dunno... way too many to choose.
  20. Don't have mine either I'm afraid, but the 1965 to 1972 solid blue body with short white sleeves when I was about 6. It was a hand me down from one of my brothers and I wore it continually. Thinking about getting the retro version again for this season... depends what the new shirt is like.
  21. Lived on Becket Avenue between 73 and 76 - moved away in 76 to Somerset. Used to know Peter Robinson who was a huge Wednesday fan along with his brothers.
  22. Thought the atmosphere was terrific and the sights and sounds will stay with me for a long, long time, however the result killed it for me. As for Wembley itself, inside it's a huge improvement on the old, but outside... it's pretty soul less IMHO. Approaching and seeing the twin towers previously used to be something special - now it just looks like a fancy office block in the middle of an industrial estate! Nice attempt at building the atmosphere though with the fan zones!
  23. I have mine and re-boarded the bandwagon after an enforced absence of a few years - hasten to add that I'm neither "new" nor "plastic"!!
