  1. One more question before your minds are focussed on today’s games: Do you sing the Beadle’s about song if and when he makes a good save? If not, it’s an absolute waste of a tap-in of a song. It should be a condition of his loan if you ask me.
  2. Certainly looks like Leonard is going to a Championship club this summer, as per local journalist who is usually very reliable. No idea which club though.
  3. I’d be really surprised if he’s not loaned out again next season. We (Brighton) currently have three young keepers in development: Verbruggen (21), Rushworth (22) and Beadle. I’d say that there’s probably not room for more than one in the squad next season on basis that they’ll need competitive game time to progress. Sounds like he’s having a great loan though. Certainly no hiding place for a keeper going into a relegation battle!
  4. It’s a fully-owned subsidiary of the club, although don’t ask me why the stadium ownership is set up this way. The depreciation still appears as a cost in the club’s annual accounts, even though infrastructure stuff doesn’t count for FFP.
  5. You getting confused with Man City? The Amex and the land its on aren't owned by the council or Sussex university.
  6. They're lying. I was in the away end that night and won't deny that it looked brilliant. Was it pre-planned in any way, or totally spontaneous?
  7. This is the correct answer. You’re not going anywhere but further down the leagues with Chansiri in charge. The only bit I’d disagree with is that you should skip the politeness phase and go straight to war. From an outsider’s point of views the man has been taking the ******** out of you for the past 4 years and using the club as an ego trip. He has no concept of the fact that fans will always own a football club, regardless of whose name is on the deeds.
  8. I agree. Full of management bull and doesn’t seem a particularly nice bloke to work with when things aren’t going his way. Sunderland were still getting their 2nd season’s parachute payment (around £30m) and benefiting from from ticket and commerce revenue from crowds averaging in the low 30 thousands. They should have absolutely smashed League 1.
  9. So why do you think that Brighton fans hear homophobic abuse all the time and Wednesday fans don’t then? Or do you think I’m making it up? Burnley are just one example of many.
  10. You’ve not heard any homophobic chantings because Wednesday don’t have any out gay players and Sheffield isn’t considered a particularly gay town. Ask any Brighton fan that travels regularly and they’ll give you a long list. As I said previously, the big city clubs tend to have more progressive fans (Leeds is an exception), but go somewhere like Turf Moor and it’ll be 90 mins of chants such as ‘town full of homos’, ‘does your boyfriend know you’re here?’ and ‘we can see you holding hands’ etc.
  11. Sadly, that is absolute testicles, particularly at a number of football grounds.
  12. Anyone who thinks that a footballer coming out wouldn’t face serious abuse at most away grounds should go and watch a few Brighton away games. It’s generally ok at the big city clubs, but go to places like Burnley, Stoke or Middlesbrough and it’s like going back 70 years.
  13. Boro came down in 16/17 and the accounts shown for them are the 17/18 season as it seems that they haven’t published their 18/19 accounts yet either. I’m assuming it’s done this way as comparison with a clubs accounts for a year that they were in the Premier League would be pointless when analysing Championship finances.
  14. I doubt any clubs have a financial year end on March 31st 6 weeks before the season even finishes. They will have it sometime in the off season. I didn’t notice Fulham in there first time, but it’s showing their figures for the 17/18 season (same as for Wednesday), the year they got promoted.
  15. It’s for season 18/19. Fulham, Luton and Huddersfield weren’t in the Championship. I’m guessing that West Brom and Stoke aren’t included as they haven’t submitted figures for 18/19 yet, and it wouldn’t provide a reasonable comparison to provide their 17/18 figures, as they’d be from a Premier League season. Swansea, who came down the same season, are included as their 18/19 accounts have been published.
