I always remember the “on our way chant” really lifted the crowd and raised the atmosphere. although we would look like numpties singing it nower days.

I remember Tom Lees being good in the air, and used to be in the right position to clear the second balls. He also chipped in with a few goals. In the current team, the selection over the last few games has lacked physicality, however add smith, ingleson, Iorfa and Bernard then the team has much greater height and physical presence.

The foundations of the pitch are made of sand Underneath the topsoil so they have to keep it wet before play so that it doesn’t just break up when the players studs go in it. Normally the home coaches can ask for the pitch to be wetter to suit their play more, I know Carlos did this as he liked the ball to fizz across the surface at higher speed with less resistance
