At the game yesterday.
Got me thinking, when did we stop high pressing? The good games under Carlos had us pressing high and going after the ball - he changed approach, things worsened and we've never gone back to high pressing since. Why?
The other, passing back. Bannan called this out with Joey yesterday. So often, we bring the ball up over the half way line or into the attacking third - then turn around, play it back to the defence (who are pressed by the opposition) and then play it back to the keeper who hoofs it up and we subsequently give the ball away from it. What's the point?
Both the lack of pressing & the playing it back are completely bewildering. Any ideas?
