  1. It's our new centre back pairing
  2. I went last year during the snooker world championship (I live in Devon so don't get to Yorkshire that often) We asked the waiter to ask the chef to cook whatever he wanted for 4 - 4 starters and 4 mains - even if it was off menu It was stunning We also met Steven Hendry and Dennis Taylor. Apparently, accorid to the waiter, during world champs, Hendry is there every night with a different pundit/player. Except Shaun Murphy. Never Shaun Murphy
  3. Bedwetting about the term bedwetting
  4. I want a neutron signing as much as anyone, but heard despite electron pace he's a bit small. But if he comes with no charge, think we'd be blown away
  5. Looks (aqua)fresh to me
  6. Exeter fans absolutely love him and would take him in a heartbeat problem is wages. Exeter are a very small club owned by a supporters trust so whilst they do make a fair bit on player sales, they reinvest in facilities and youth rather than spunk on wages that might break the wage structure. Shame really as I think Dawson not only enjoyed his time there but came back a better keeper
  7. Players don't control how much they get paid in so much as there is always going to be a club to pay it. The reason they are discussing going on strike is to do with an ever increasingly workload set out by the governing bodies. More tournaments means more money for clubs and organisers and the hedge funds/owners/states that control them. The players get paid the same but have more hours travelling, training and playing and less hours to recover. We can bemoan all we want how much they get paid, and I for one think it's crazy, but to increase workloads on top of what is a crazy schedule anyway seems to me to be unacceptable and it's right that there's talk of strikes. Well in any other business strikes would be talked about. Alas when it comes to football the reasons for strikes are always boiled down to earnings.
  8. Sorry if wrong area!! I'm in Sheffield for the snooker and want to watch the match tomorrow. Any good pub suggestions to either watch the match or watch soccer saturday (or similar) where its ok to be a Wednesday fan? I woke up today with a view of bumhole lane from our pad so need some Wednesday tonic!
  9. I bought this when i was younger. Loved it. Also the mid 90s dortmund one was a classic
  10. I live in Exeter They lost 7-0 today And yet I still think we're worse. I hope we go on a run of some description but can't see it happening. Sad times
  11. I've always been fascinated by, read books on and watched documentaries about belief. From religions, to cults to fringe outfits and more. Football is, to some respect, like religion. Objectively speaking, it makes no sense why 10s of thousands turn out to watch 11 people kick a ball about representing an organisation that may have existed 100+ years but is purely a sporting institution (or nowadays a business) To this end, and much like religion, no 1 singular opinion or ideology is RIGHT in much the same way none are WRONG. You can point to all the evidence and facts in the world but, like religion, those who have centred their belief in 1 aspect tend not to be swayed. Pointing to evidence may only serve to embolden their standpoint further. Do I agree with this supporter? No, I don't. But I wholeheartedly support her perspective as that's hers to have. And some of the gutter trash in this thread serve no purpose whatsoever about from to divide "others" from what might be the majority who want DC out
  12. As ever Chansiris "statements" leads to more questions than answers I've been a wednesday fan since the early 90s. This is the worst I've known it. He needs to be shown the dictionary definition of statement
