  1. Fantham, Finney and Megson all played at the same time and overlapped with Froggatt. That's what you call a settled side
  2. Could we sing "Chansiri Chansiri go" to to the Danny Danny Röhl chant. If we get that ringing round the stadium every match it might get through his thick skin just how unpopular he is
  3. Alan Finney on one wing Derek Wilkinson on the other, what s combination that was .
  4. Could be a good bet, remember watching Leeds V Wednesday in one room while Man U on in another
  5. Shush don't tell anyone
  6. The article is by Daniel Storey, just read it before looking at owlstalk. The i only costs 90p
  7. Peter Johnson was a terrific right back for Wednesday in the 1960s. He played 180 games, all in the top devison. He played 7 times in European matches including both games against Barcelona. He would be in my top 100 players of all time for the owls Belated birthday greetings.
  8. Hope he's as fast as Mick the Miller, won the greyhound derby twice and became a sporting icon
  9. Think you are correct on this one, so their position is worse than I thought
  10. Windass will be leaving, a player who doesn't celebrate much, taking his shirt off and laying it on the ground and then waving to all the fans as he left the pitch looked to me like someone saying goodbye and thank you.
  11. Got to take into account the level they were managing at. Feel sorry for for fans who've only got more recent managers to compare. Catterick Buckingham Francis
  12. Always been interested in Torquay after one of my biggest mistakes, taking my wife to watch Torquay V Chesterfield on our honeymoon. Was never forgiven
  13. Been watching since mid 50s, no contest Ron Springet
  14. Just stick an s on the end of Oh Danny Boy and turn the I and I've into we and weve got a ready made song that lots of people know and would sound fantastic ringing round Hillsborough. Any thoughts on this
  15. Agreed, great time to be a Wednesday supporter
  16. Rip, remember Pancho fondly. It was so difficult for defenders to get the ball off him when he was in possession.
  17. R.I.P. Billy one of my earliest favourite players
  18. There ain't no way you're ever gonna win But don't be sad Two out a Three ain't bad
  19. We were 5-3 down on aggregate from the first leg, then 6-3 down as they scored first, pulled it back to 6-6, they scored again before we got 2 more, 5-2 on the night, 8-7 on aggregate. Agree last night was better.
  20. One match I would always put in my list would be the Intercity cup game against Olympique Lyon in 1961. Lost the first leg 4-2 . At home they scored first to put us 2-5 down on aggregate. Score then went 1-1 (3-5) 2-1 (4-5) 3-1 (5-5) 4-1 (6-5) 4-2 ,(6-6) then Johnny Fantham scored in the 85th minute to make it 5-2 on the night and a 7-6 aggregate win
  21. in 66 we played every game away and got to the final, perhaps we could be playing every game at home this time
  22. I'm in my late 70s and even I can manage e-tickets, got one for the Crucible the other week and use them when traveling by train. It's time the club got its act together on this.
  23. Just carry on to junction 35, a bit further but quicker anyway
