My understanding was that the rule in the Uk has always been to replay the whole match if abandoned. In Spain I know they play the remaining time. Some caveats to people who disagree with the decision. There had been numerous stoppages during the second half so it was likely to have had a lot of injury time. The amount of time left in the match was still a fair bit. Secondly, it was ultimately Blackburns pitch that was unable to cope with the weather. If they had good enough drainage (and I accept that it was A LOT of rain) then th a match would have been finished.

Proud of the boys today. We know we lack quality and fitness but that isn’t the manager or players fault. They gave it their all against one of the title favourites.

No chance Brentford go for him. However I think Brentford will go for McKenna from Ipswich and they might go for Röhl.

I do wonder where Hillsborough stands in any negotiations. Whether Chansiri would try to sell the club but retain the stadium and if so how any potential buyer would feel about that.

Most years we seem to do fairly well at u18s and u21s. Genuine question for those of you in the know. Is this because unlike some (most) other teams we don’t seem to take as many of the younger players out of our academy and use them for match days. Means our academy is always playing its strongest team?

Still going on about refusing to sign NDAs is weird. Why would any businessman have trouble with that? It’s pretty standard practice.

Can’t imagine Leipzig fans would be thrilled about it but would be a great move for Röhl. They’re a huge club regularly in the Champions League and challenging at the top of the Bundesliga. Think it’s more likely that this is Röhl’s agent trying to get his name out with the hope of getting interest from other clubs over the Summer.

Makes me think of when we had Martinez as a youngster from Arsenal. Not saying Beadle will reach his level. Young keepers are always going to have mistakes in them but it’s all part of their learning journey.

I like Pedersen and think potentially he could be up for the job but I think there are two problems. One I think he’d rather go with Röhl and get to the Premier League. Two I don’t trust our fans with this appointment. As soon as there is a poor run of form they’ll be a clamour of Röhl was the mastermind and Pedersen was just hanging on to his coattails or he’s an assistant not a manager and DC only picked him because he’s cheap. The baggage of Röhl leaving would make a hard job even harder for him. Don’t mean anything against Henrik with any of this, people I know of at the club speak very highly of him.

I’d be amazed if this doesn’t happen this summer. Southampton aren’t going to stick with Juric and Röhl will be the first choice once they’re back in the Championship.
