He is looking really promising. Great first touch, an ability to pop up in the middle to meet crosses and cut backs, positional discipline and controlled aggression when defending. I have really enjoyed watching him this half. If this is the norm and not the exception for him, we could have someone special at the club.

It seems very clear from what he was saying that if Chansiri stumps up the cash to improve the infrastructure at the club, he will be here for a while. He said he knows that not everything can be done in single summer, but that he just wants to see moves in the right direction. It is rare to see such transparency without everything being veiled in cliches. If we stay up, and assuming Chansiri can approach the situation with humility (!!!!) and cash (!!!!!), it really does feel like we could be in for a very positive 2024/25.

As many have said, there was a wealth of great performances yesterday, but I really think that people take Bannan for granted. The amount of times I thought they were finding space and then he was the first to close it down was insane. His fitness levels are exceptional, his defensive work is crucial, and he is still our most creative player. The fact that he has only won player of the season for us once blows my mind. He is up there with Sheridan, Waddle and Hirst for me.
