He arrived at Hillsborough in my first full season watching Wednesday. A few comments in the crowd about him being too small for a keeper. He won everybody over in that first season making wonderful saves. Never wore gloves and always caught the ball being both strong and agile. Why are you in the South Stand complaining about those around you when you should be away from Hillsborough and boycotting games if you feel so strongly about it?

It is a dilemma but don’t give in. I’m finding it hard, even cancelled Ifollow but haven’t given in to the craving to go along. I’m waiting for the regulator hopefully to take control then I might start going to games again.

Loved that little bit of footage of him on Sky organizing more experienced players who they should be marking at a corner tonight. A long long time since I’ve seen a young player come in to the team and make the position his own like he’s doing. And never one quite so young. Please just keep it going and don’t be misled into being sold for a fraction of what you’re worth to sit on the bench in the Premier League.

I heard him explain that recently. When his contract came up for renewal he claimed he was offered only 25% of his previous wage. Didn’t want to go but had little choice with far better offers being put to him.

I was wondering how the players might organise a form of strike action that would be eye catching for the media but still allow the game still to be played and thereby avoid even harsher sanctions by the authorities. One idea that might work would be to delay the start of a televised game by having a dressing room sit in. A 5 or 10 minute delay would leave no alternative but for Sky commentators to fill in by discussing what is going on at the club to a wider audience, live as it happens. If players do read this forum I throw the idea in for discussion. Might be more effective than the talk of a training strike.

Being of that vintage I remember that being played at half time when we’d taken an early 2-0 lead. Can’t remember the game just that it was unusual to be winning at that period in time.

If the play is stopped every time a player goes down injured just think of the consequences. Coaches will be telling defenders to drop to the ground like they’ve been shot every time they’re outpaced by a striker. Gamesmanship is bad enough as it is without opening up another route for the cheats and time wasters

George Brown’s goal was a bit special I thought. Ok the defender went down injured but how many youngsters making their first team debut would stay calm, visibly compose himself and shoot accurately like that. I thought that moment to eye the goal set himself might just have let that defender get a tackle in but he aced it. Well done George.

Why AI or anything/anyone would put Alan Hodgkinson with 5 England caps in goal ahead of Ron Springett with 33 England caps is baffling. Not to mention Jagielka in central midfield. What nonsense.

Pedersen will have to rely on some of them in the league games as injuries increase during the season. Might as well see what they’re made of now before they get chucked in deep end. Sadly I didn’t see too much against Grimsby to give me much hope that many of them are Championship ready.

Much as I admire his effort poor old Hendrick’s on a hiding to nothing really isn’t he? While Chansiri is in charge his hands will be tied by EFL sanctions. If we are lucky enough to get a new owner with cash to spend,and EFL lift sanction to allow spending to happen, that new owner will likely want his own man in charge. Sometimes a change of position for a young player can work wonders. Remember a young Mel Sterland switched from midfield to full back, orKeiran Lee switched from full back to midfield and way back Gerry Young from striker to wing half. Otegbayo doesn’t convince at centre back so maybe it’s worth a try. I watched Shipston and Fusire in midfield last night and they don’t look ready for Championship football so what’s to lose in giving him a try at defensive midfield when the time is right. You just don’t know if you don’t try.

Might even tempt Munoz back.

If things stay the same off the field there won’t be much of a queue to replace him.

Not had a season ticket for the last couple of seasons because of general dissatisfaction with Chansiri so it’s easier for me to boycott absolutely everything. Was alternating between 20/20 cricket and Ipswich v Blades last night. Cricket was great but kept switching over to see how Ipswich were getting on. Every time I switched channels they’d scored again. Saw the last bit, Selles looked like a dead man walking and my immediate thought was that those players are trying to get him fired. Shades of Munoz came to mind.
