  1. It's a Lowry painting
  2. This squad was devastated over the summer. We’re playing with our hands tied behind our backs. Utd will need to watch out though. We’ll be back
  3. Not forgetting that he's Carlton's son
  4. Can we have more than two please sir?
  5. And there was me expecting The Boy from New York City.
  6. Just Like That was oft used by Sex and the City - and incorporated into the title of the sequel series, and the lovely Tommy Cooper oft said it during his magic tricks which sometimes went hilariously right, and sometimes hilariously wrong
  7. It’s so sad that my first thought was Sex And The City instead of the masterful Mr Tommy Cooper!
  8. That’s about it. It’s a classic case of rich family’s son doesn’t realise how good they’ve had it and rather than putting in the graft, going to business school, learning the ropes, they are so over-confident with their own sense of self-worth they think they’ll be a success at anything. Seen it all before. Money is largely gone in but a few generations, if that, unless there’s a concerted effort to be humble, put the work in, and the right people in the right positions. Money is a blessing only in the hands of the wise.
  9. Charles Valery - Weaver - Bernard - Lowe Charles - Bannan Poveda - Windass - Gassama Brown
  10. Once went to Highbury at the home end (given tickets). Had to pretend to be an Arsenal fan throughout. Not difficult because they were most unexciteable fans I’ve ever come across. They politely clapped their goal. Not sure if they even bothered to stand up. Was even during their invincibles period!
  11. Well done lads… great to hear. I hope many of us listen on Spotify and get them over the thousand listen threshold so they can start earning a bit of micro-dough with it. It’s jam-packed with Wednesday culture. Especially love the chorus.
  12. First Wednesday match I saw in person was with Pleat as manager. Brought in some exciting players. Was hard done by. The path downhill became steeper after he left.
  13. If I’m allowed one of only… we would be a much stronger team if Windass hadn’t left in the summer. aargh now I’ve done it and am remembering others… Gassama in particular
  14. Sounds like it’s going to be Cooper and a midfielder, but hopefully it’s a midfielder who can not only defend and distribute but score also.
  15. You’re in the North Stand?
  16. Man Utd have forgotten him?
  17. And maybe Sky could do an advertisement opposite the lane
  18. I'd love to be the same Beighton Owl, but unless the EFL backtracks on our signing restrictions I fear we're going to be in a very similar situation for a number of transfer windows more - and that first year in League One could be extremely tricky. IMHO the EFL should actually backtrack because the issue was with our former chairman and now he's gone, even the current administration team is running the club at a much more professional level.
  19. Anybody else finding it hard to get enthusiastic about games at the moment? Can't ever remember a time I'm kind of expecting to lose each game. Only getting excited if we're still in it in the second half.
  20. Thing is it's not going to get any easier unless the EFL cancel the embargos
  21. Exactly ^ Chansiri should’ve been the one who left in summer, but it is what it is, and thankfully we can now move on. Its very hard to let go of hope, and my hope is probably unrealistic at the moment - that somehow 1/ the EFL return back -12pts 2/ that we match those around us point for point 3/ that in January we get such a squad boost that we push on for a miracle. It’s much more likely that -12pts remains, we dig in for the long term and need to go through another League One promotion attempt next season - though storming the league would feel good. All options are better than before though - the main task of the season is complete - getting rid of the man who shall not be named.
  22. If Cadz is going to go up a level he needs strong support around him - a mentor on the pitch, strong specialist coach for attackers. With a new regime we may be able to fix these things, but the speed at which he needs to improve may mean he’s replaced before he’s nurtured.
