  1. Three in midfield needed and making one of a two Palmer is unwise and I seem to recall it has been tried before and led to disaster. Playing high risk football not sensible even though DR blames individual errors.
  2. We have had enough lessons from unguarded gun
  3. How can this be known?
  4. I thought we’d dispensed with relying on the press given our midfiekd weaknesses and uncertain defence
  5. Vaulks was intelligent as a footballer and did the work of two men defending in an under manned midfield in the last few months of the season but did not feel really wanted. He also took over taking the corners from BB, very successfully
  6. He didn’t get it right all the time last year. We miscalculated how to play away at Soton, Norwich, Huddersfield, Leicester and Ipswich.
  7. We are set up to attack but the midfield and wing backs cannot provide good ball to the strikers and our wide midfielders have no idea how to do it.
  8. I remember Vaulks saying perhaps after the Norwich home match second half that we are having to change the way we prefer to play to get points.
  9. Not sure it was as simple as Vaulks turning us down. He said he did not feel wanted and his appearances on video last season when he was often not picked showed he was a guy not afraid to speak frankly. Eg towards the end of the season , about having to play a different way from the way preferred ( by the management) to get points.
  10. We were very fortunate in our last three away games and took 9 invaluable points as a complete surprise otherwise we would have gone
  11. We saw fatal strategies vs decent teams last season
  12. It was. But the press gives speedy skilful players a chance
  13. players in midfiekd not good in attsck or defence incl wide midfielders
  14. Delivering again and again elsewhere? And then what do we do with him? I think we do not realise his quality, shown last November and December, while bringing in others in order to loan him out.
  15. Absolutely right. Sunderland were a step up from Plymouth and Hull and we gave them a helping hand. We must not draw too gloomy a conclusion.
  16. Playing both Musaba and Gassama a waste of a midfield place.
  17. How lucky we were vs Blackburn and Sunderland
  18. not a good sign to have Valery brought off
  19. Agree. He gets brought on when we are are selected to gamble in defence
  20. Home and away, better opposition
  21. Until we decided to change the wide open approach against good teams away
  22. Midfield not winning anything because there are only 2 of them
