Trust Call For Full Boycott Against Middlesbrough
owl_83 replied to TZOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I think you and all fans need to ask yourself whether you enjoy going to matches. It can't be easy watching us get stuffed every week. You have seen the direction we are going in as a club. It is not going to get better, it is going to get worse. Imagine watching us play our U21's and getting thrashed against Stockport County, Swindon, Grimsby each and every week. You would actually enjoy that? If you don't enjoy, then why go? Surely there is a Costa, Starbucks, a pub you can meet your friends in? I joined the early boycott and refused to get a season ticket this year. I was told this was coming. It has been hard as hell not going, it has been hard for my 6 year old who just started going to matches. But I do it because I want Wednesday to be successful and they won't ever be successful while Chansiri is in charge. -
Looks like it is going well I heard their opinion' - Postecoglou undaunted as fans turn Ange Postecoglou remained defiant as Nottingham Forest fans called for him to be sacked after barely three weeks in charge. Full article https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cd72wenj4vdo

We may be on our arse but at least we're not Blades
owl_83 replied to Pablo Bonvin's topic in General Football Chat
Amazing day. Went on the train and got a police escort from the station. ******** took forever walking us there and we nearly missed kick off. Kept singing "We're going to send you down" to the Leicester fans. When Clarke scored I ended up two rows forward from where I was. Didn't Leicester have to beat Stoke on the last day then to stay up but only drew 0-0. At a guess wasn't it the year Dublin retired and we played Norwich last game? -

I just don't see the point of any of this
owl_83 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I don't see the point of anyone going to the games, especially home games. "Hey Dad, looking forward to today's game, what do you reckon we will do today?" "I don't know, maybe lose 3-0" "I was thinking 4-0" "It would be a good result if we limited it to 2-0 and managed to get a shot on target but still think it might be 3. If it is 3-0 at Half Time, at least we get to go home early" "Hey Dad, shall we just save ourselves the pain of it all and go and do something productive with our lives" "Good idea, son" -
For me, fans who go, lose all rights to complain about the product on the pitch. They can go all they want but then they cannot complain at the fact they are watching a team getting beat every week due to the incompetence of the Chairman and they cannot complain when the future of the club is getting beat every week by the likes of Grimsby, Salford, Crewe etc and the club languishing in League Two.

Fans leaving at half time (0-3)
owl_83 replied to TouchIsGolden's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
What did you expect? Would it not be better to make a statement and not go all together? Why not just enjoy afternoon in the pub? -
I don't think all this is on the manager, there seems to be real troubles behind the scenes.

Shameful he wouldn't even watch the penalties

Chansiri Paid Off Röhl!?
owl_83 replied to areNOTwhatTHEYseem's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Wait a minute here!! So clubs tried to come in for Röhl, he tried to play hard ball and say "No you can't have Röhl for less than £10 million, as that is what is in his contract". He could have negotiated that down to say £2-4 million and let Röhl go between January and March, which would have allowed more time to plan for this season? Instead, he hangs on and hangs on until two weeks before the season, which wee wees everyone off and instead of getting much needed funds, he has to pay out £250K? Is this really what happened? What a ******** muppet he is!! -
Will the EFL be at the club right now?
owl_83 replied to owl_83's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I'm not trying to blame the EFL. I am just asking whether they will be looking at it all. There must be serious doubt we can fulfil our fixtures for the entire season. If there is, then can they kick us out? -
I've been thinking (I know it's dangerous). if I was the EFL, I would be sending auditors round to the club two months ago, never mind now. I would want cashflow forecasts, forecasts of income and expenditure, a business plan. I would want guarantees that we could fulfill the fixtures for the full season. The absolute last thing the EFL would want is for us to turn round in November or March and say we can't afford to play our fixtures, that would cause all kind of headaches about the integrity of the league. So will the EFL be there now pouring over documents or have they seriously got their heads in the sand about it all?

I got criticised by a member of my own family when I protested. I know some got spat and sworn at. It is probably too late now.

He was NEVER going to sell for two reasons:- 1) His valuation is just not realistic. The club needs LOTS of money spending on it in it's current state. We have a stand that is out of action, that reduces income, which makes the club valuation less. The season ticket money has been spent this means the club would get reduced income etc and need to find the money to spend on wages next year. 2) His ego would not allow it. Chansiri cannot afford to see anyone else be successful at the club. He is a full on Narcissist. He could not face anyone taking us to the Premier League as he would have to face up to the fact that he was an incompetent buffoon, which he cannot do. Where it leaves us, I don't know. but I am not giving him another penny of my money until he is gone. We all need to prepare for the worst and anything else is a bonus.
-
Did you not expect this to happen?
-
I'm pretty apathetic about it all to be honest. This is nothing that surprises me and I have long been prepared for it mentally. Refused to get a season ticket and pretty much accepted we will fold as a club. If we are lucky, someone will buy the IP of the club name, badge, shirt etc and start from the Northern Counties. If we play Leicester, I will be VERY surprised. I don't believe he will sell as he is just so unrealistic. I can't ever see us playing in Hillsborough again. If we aren't lucky, we would have to start a phoenix club all over again. I wish Chansiri would just put us all out of our misery and shut the club down.

“Now is not the right time to protest”
owl_83 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I agree with this. A lot of people didn't realise how badly we were run under Chansiri as they just turn up to the matches and watch the results. They don't listen to the actual goings off around the club or don't understand them. I think this catastrophic event of the North Stand closing will wake a lot of people up. A family member who is a season ticket won't be attending next season and I never thought I would type that sentence. They were the one who criticised me for protesting last year. I believe this is the one event that will wake up and turn the fans and I can see things getting very ugly from now on. -

He's trying his best and we can't let the players concentration be disturbed. Plus we need to be careful what we wish for, who knows who else could take over the club. -
North Stand: 6 of the 18 steel trusses need action
owl_83 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I'm at the point where I will start to completely hate the enablers. The "supporters" who will turn up against Stoke with a brand new home shirt and spend £30 in the stadium on match day. By continuing to support and fund Chansiri, they are ensuring we will have to put up with this incompetence and shambolic running of the football club. If Chansiri stays, they will ensure that we are never successful ever again. Only when Chansiri goes, will we ever be successful. Chansiri only goes if we stop going all together. -
Have you given Chansiri too easy a ride?
owl_83 replied to Rusholme Ruffian's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I think it was because Chansiri was the first to spend money and invest in us since we left the Premier League. That carried a lot of weight with Wednesday fans. There were signs from the beginning that he didn't know what he was doing but because he had at least tried, we was beyond criticism. Anyone remember when he started selling 10 year season tickets and was lauded as a genius? A lot of fans pointed out that he was gambling with future revenues and we wouldn't be getting any revenue from those fans for quite a while? It fell on deaf ears. "He knows what he is doing". Because he had spent money, there was an impression out there that he was a super successful businessman. As a fan who protested against Chansiri, I was personally told I was a ******** idiot because I had doubts about him and that was from a member of my family. Even when we had the turn around protest last season, I was told to sit down and shut up, "he's trying his best" and "he has money, he just can't spend it" or "he's just waiting for permission to spend it". It is only when things have gone absolute ******** up, which we predicted since 2018, fans have realised than Chansiri had absolutely no clue what he was doing throughout. -
But we need to be careful for what we wish for trying to get rid of Chansiri, apparently
