🦉 v ⚔️ The Steel City Derby: Official Matchday Thread
room0035 replied to ReginaldD's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Pederson coming out post game about how proud he is off the players effort will be a big mistake. Too many today did not do the bare minimum of put 100% effort in, Ugbo is a waste of a shirt, Lowe offers next to nothing as an attacking threat, Valery is not a midfielder he a full back - play him there. Palmer and Lowe are a liability at the back, another day palmer would have given a penalty for the tugging shirts in front of the ref. I dont understand why Bannan spends most of the game playing left back, our only creative player never in an area of the pitch to create Yes we lack quality but today we lacked effort and in a derby that's not acceptable. -
A bit harsh hes got Palmer one side and Lowe the other for most attacks is was like playing 1 at the back. Palmer and Lowe are not centre backs conceding 2 goals plus again over 16 matches should prove that. Give youth a chance as the season pro's are showing very little currently to warrant a guaranteed start.

Bamford miss said everything about today 6 united player attacking, 3 Wednesday defenders no one busting a gut to get back, we have show little fight today and fatigue after an international break is not an excuse. 100% effort is a bare minimum and too many players have shown very little today. Can Henrick please tell us, how Ugbo the passenger keeps getting picked ahead of anyone. -

******** Woeful from Valery, a defender wanting too many touches in midfield. -
Update on Supertram for the match this weekend
room0035 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
So we are not running the trams but so we don't lose out on the thousand in tickets we are running a bus replacement. Oliver Coppard really does make himself look like a fizz wit on a daily basis. I suspect this is all smoke and mirrors instead of admitting they have no team drivers, as I suspect most will be owls or blades and going to the game they make this charade up blade fans violence and disorder. Then put on a bus service running the same routes as the tram. -
So you have to cue to buy a beer ticket paid by card in one place, Then go to the bars and cue to get a pint. Or have enough staff to be pouring pints in advance and pay via contactless cards. Pubs have been doing this for a long time without the need for beer tokens. Don't complicate what should be a simple process. This for me is a bit off an own goal by the administrator, unless the long term goal is to replace staff with drinks machines. I suspect this also would go down like a lead balloon too.

What’s the timescales of the injured players ?
room0035 replied to Kopparberg's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Which is less often that sightings of Lord Lucan. Just think to be paid £15-20,000 a week and never play 1 full game. So far this season we have got 28 minutes in 15 games, 28/(15 x 90) = unfit for 98% of the game time so far. -
Supertram Changes on Sunday for the Sheffield Derby

But I think they also didnt run the tram last year either so when exactly did these incidents happen. its just bullshit that you get from Coppard. will manchester take the tram off for their derby - not a chance will London stop the buses for any London derby - no way will liverpool for their derby - Nah I bet if Sheffield University was involved they would not dare take the trams off. -
Step forward Bailey one of our own Cademateri to silence the Bacon One from the lane. i would have said Ugbo but hes that bad he will probably miss the kick off as well. The law of averages say he has to get one in the net at some point but hes had his chance now Bailey deserves a run of a few games.

Steven Fletcher - I wanted to retire at Wednesday

I think a telling sign of how much we over paid too many players is where they end up when they leave. -

I must have missed that 1 game he played. -
I suspect most if not all will be in the next 18 months. Its the wednesday way under Chansiri never plan pass the next window. If we get a decent new owner I would be looking to get rid of Ugbo, Chalobah and send a few of the kids out on loan. get in 5 or 6 loans and 4 or 5 free agents to get to the summer, then have a complete rebuild, but I would be looking in January at players out of contract in the summer, that we can sign on frees for a league one promotion push.

Hes a crock, he has been finding club to pay him good wages on the promise of how good his brother is, while spending most of his time never playing. Give me Will Vaulks over him any him every day of the week. Playing 57 of the last 62 league games and without who we would not have got promoted. -

In a possible 62 games he has barely played 500 minutes, so to say he looked decent is a bit of fetch! -

This has been the issue since the council took ownership of running it, never an issue with Stagecoach, but SYMC any excuse for not running services, there barely been a full service in the last 2 years. People always want public ownership until you get it, then you very quickly realise why governments privatised everything to private companies, because public ownership is a really poor service. This is on Oliver Coppard, for allowing such weak management of the tram network. -

Chalobah injury record and availability make Almen Abdi look like an ever present. A truly awful signing, that has cost us so much and delivered so little, but I suppose at least he has 1 more league goal that Ugbo. -
Pudil wasnt a free agent he cost us £1.5m ?

Liam Palmer to break Andrew Wilsons appearance record.

I used to work with his cousin by all accounts Palmer is a real down to earth lad and has been at the club since he was 7 or 8. -
NEWS: DNA spray to be used at Sheffield derby
room0035 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Dear lord are the Police in Sheffield that useless. We spend 95% of our lives on cameras, every inch of the stadium except the loos will be under camera but now they want to tag every fan for the 5 or 10 that might cause trouble. Maybe SYCA can use the same thing so South Yorkshire Police have no excuse for taking the trams off. This idea is about as Draconian as it comes! i bet no other police in the country get away with this type of treatment of fans. -

room0035 replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I bet if it was a premier league clash they would not dare do it. This is what you get with council ownership the Supertram service will get poorer and poorer. -
The proof that if the fans stand as one we can make the difference. Just a shame it took so long for those last few to get it. And for me those few thousand that did attend the Middlesbrough game with no reason need to hold their heads in shame. When I say no reason, if your son, dad, brother was playing or you were there for genuine reason - so be it, but the 'we were supporting the lads,' excuse simple does not wash. But DC has gone, hopefully on to a brighter future and most importantly some financial stability at the club.
