  1. After Cher: Piggies, tramps and thieves, The scrubbers from the other side of town we call them Piggies, tramps and thieves
  2. Agreed- Goodson with the little D shapes behind the goal, the Dell with the chocolate boxes, Bramall Lane with one side missing, Stamford Bridge with the dog track and mobility scooters behind the goal. OK - not really suited to modern football but all unique
  3. I take your points - it would be difficult to measure one club as uncompetitive. Whilst it’s just us, I guess the EFL are hoping we get taken over and the problem goes away. Imagine though if two other clubs found themselves in the same position and started the season with a squad full of unpaid kids. Relegation would be decided before a ball was kicked. I’m not smart enough to know how to solve that, but I’m sure the EFL would be a lot more proactive if their whole ‘product’ lost credibility.
  4. A couple of key injuries and players/ staff leaving, and we could be looking at teams running in double figures at Hillsborough in front of barely any fans. Maybe the EFL can’t do anything right now, but if games become uncompetitive the whole league loses credibility so they will have to act on unfit owners at some point (even if it’s too late for us)
  5. With regard to renewing - you can’t lose your seat until after the season. If DC has gone I’m sure new owners would allow people to renew at early bird prices. If DC is still in charge - I can’t see anyone wanting to pay £600 for another season of this misery. So as far as I can see there is no point in renewing until he’s gone - I certainly won’t be.
  6. Do Newcastle still come out to Local Hero? A right depressing dirge
  7. Great OP. I think a lot of people feel the same. When something tragic happens around football we often say ‘there are more important things in life than football’. This is clearly true, but I don’t think things are so black and white. A lot of the things in life that are most important to me - friends, family, memories are totally linked to SWFC. It’s a big part of our life stories. I lost my dad this year and right up to the end we still talked about Wednesday. It was comforting to me to think that I inherited a love of SWFC from him, like he did from his dad, and that my nephew and mates kids have inherited the same. When I was leaving the Bristol game, with about 2,000 home fans in the ground I couldn’t help but feel that that link could soon be gone. Football results may not be a matter of life and death, but the community around it can be pure gold. Let’s fight to keep it. UTO
  8. Given that we have something like 25k fans that went to Wembley who weren’t in the ground today, I’m assuming it was a crush to fit them all under the south stand
  9. As well as the big ones. A couple that stick out to me are Coventry in the quarter final in 87. I was 18 and desperate to see us at Wembley - leaving Hillsborough while their huge following celebrated was a real gut punch. The semi v Huddersfield under Carlos was woeful all round - a turgid, negative display in the first leg - not enough energy to lift us in the second leg, and capped off with JRs bottle job.
  10. The 90s was the best time to be an Owl and I was lucky to be there most weeks, but in terms of one-off occasions it’s the miracle of Hillsborough for me.
  11. I think this is a great idea. It would get publicity, and DC will be able to see exactly how much he has lost (and the hospital has benefitted). I'm in
  12. Or if people don’t want to step into Hillsborough while he’s in charge, what if we flip it round and everyone went to Bolton so there were more Wednesdayites there than at home games? I’m sure we could have most of the ground if needed. Break some attendance records, protest chants throughout the game, get media coverage, show the world that we are the soul of SWFC not some foreign charlatan, and give your money (or most of it) to someone other than DC
  13. I reckon Bukta would do OK if they re-released the classic kits etc in the way umbro have done. I'd certainly buy one.
