Great OP. I think a lot of people feel the same.
When something tragic happens around football we often say ‘there are more important things in life than football’. This is clearly true, but I don’t think things are so black and white. A lot of the things in life that are most important to me - friends, family, memories are totally linked to SWFC. It’s a big part of our life stories. I lost my dad this year and right up to the end we still talked about Wednesday. It was comforting to me to think that I inherited a love of SWFC from him, like he did from his dad, and that my nephew and mates kids have inherited the same. When I was leaving the Bristol game, with about 2,000 home fans in the ground I couldn’t help but feel that that link could soon be gone. Football results may not be a matter of life and death, but the community around it can be pure gold. Let’s fight to keep it. UTO
