Mike Ashley in coming, along with....
Sultan_Pepper replied to RevOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Only way someone would bring Sam in would be an attempt to keep us up this season which is a 99.9999% impossibility -
For what it's worth I don't think he faked anything He hurt his back stretching to recover and made a fantastic tackle after the ref should have given us a free kick a few moments earlier The ref at fault there, one of the long list of things he got wrong today Iorfa has his faults and United were primed to close us down whenever the ball went near him but that tackle he made that hurt him was excellent

It could be helpful as long as they prepour about 50,000 pints. Just get them poured early. They'll not go warm in this weather
-
That sounds sensible They've done a lot right recently at the EFL but they've always got a mistake in them. Fingers crossed they get things right
-
Interesting that they have to grant exclusivity before the league are willing to do any checks Get checking people now you lazy chuffers

Have to agree with this. Expectation is the enemy of enjoyment in football. I hope we get mega rich owners with a plan and competence and steam roll our way to the top but that's a pipe dream. I've got my fingers crossed as much as anyone for that but there's a section of the fan base that have heard every rumour and will now be disappointed if we're not owned by the Waltons by Christmas. We need to temper expectations and give our full backing to whoever comes in and help them see the right way to run the club. Work with us, not against us like the last muppet and we'll be on the up

Well done Vallery. Been great this season, even though being asked to play away from his best position Might see him back there now we are getting a couple more bodies in

The queue can be enormous on match days so plan accordingly
-
Makes sense but if we have a centre half and a wide player in that allows Palmer and Inglesson to be central options along with Valery whereas Inglesson has been deployed in a front 3 recently. When Bernard comes back that frees up Lowe and in turn Amass who could play left side I reckon and Chalobah may come back at some point I think we need some pace and creativity. Everything goes through Bannan now and there needs to be a second plan of attack.

Most exciting players (mavericks)
Sultan_Pepper replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Opposition team talk vs us currently is "Mark Bannan". We're just to eat too defend against most of the time. If you've got a maverick in the squad like Gassama or Poveda that does unexpected things and takes players out the game the who thing becomes more complicated -
Wow - What a Great Gesture

Let's Get The Scrubbers Of S2 Sold Out!
Sultan_Pepper replied to BIG D's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
That's because I sit there and they don't want to listen to me ranting about how referees never book people against us and how we never get awarded penalties. They gave us a couple of to stop the media attention when it got to near two years but that was about a year ago. -
They both struggled and Xisco's record with us in particular is indefensible but I've got some more forgiveness in my heart these days now we know quite how bad the conditions they were working under were. In time I suspect we'll find more and more stories of craziness under he who shall not be named coming out Jos in particular seemed to be tasked with bringing through youth players without us having many good youth players. Maybe he did it off his on bat or maybe he was forced into decisions by others, we may never know. Maybe he knew the financial decline years before the rest of us and knew that long term we had to become self sufficient.
-
Devil is in the details I suspect. We could have outstanding payments or contracts or clauses etc that aren't in the previous accounts that would only become clear when seeing the actual info direct from the administrators
-
To see what state the club finances are in. You might prove you have 50m then see that it'll take twice that to get the club sorted and nope out straight away

Conceding Early Goals
Sultan_Pepper replied to Tommy Crawshaw's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
We concede a lot early but also there's been 2 or 3 situations this season alone where we've done a minute's applause or the whistle protest and either conceded or nearly conceded every time The players are really trying their hardest but the change of atmosphere for those minutes really seems to affect them I get that people want to show their respects and the protests were necessary to get DC out but from now on we need to keep protests and tributes to before and after the whistle if we can. We go properly shakey when there's a minute's applause happening -
Yeah they offered some freebies to fan groups too Not fan of betting firms myself but they seem to have looked after our fans and players on this one

U-18's vs Sheffield United (h)
Sultan_Pepper replied to malek's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Alao not in the first team squad today then? -
I fear my awareness of most of our ex players is highly limited. The DC years crippled my general interest in football. I feel it starting to come back
-
He's been improving game on game and I think he's got a lot of potential going forwards. My prediction is that he turns into winger who's comfortabledoing his defensive duties.
-
Jaden Brown catching strays. Put in a few really good performances and I think under a manager like Röhl he would have been a real asset
-
DC screwed his flesh and blood over. Hirst was perfectly justified in protecting his son from a mad man.

From the responses to my question it does sound like the quality of the sound system and maybe microphones is an issue I know the bloke from Sunderland got a lot of stick late last night for his previous comments about sound systems etc but maybe it's at least one thing he'd get right
-
Honest question. Can people in the ground genuinely hear what's said in those interviews? I sit in the north level with the kop end penalty spot and the sound is so bad from the speakers you can barely understand what the main compare fella says. Can't usually hear who he says is doing the draw and when they hand the mic over we can't hear a thing
