Well this has fizzed my plan to write a Lou Bega parody called Embargo No. 5. Thanks Chansiri

Surprised no one has mentioned the month or two when we stopped using Waterfront and started coming out to this: IIRC it was part of a big push to make the music played at the ground all at least somewhat Sheffield or Wednesday-focused. One of the rare 'Chansiri era' ideas that I think was actually good in principle, even if it didn't work in practice.

He’s our top goalscorer this season so far isn’t he?!

Tell you what, I hope he plays Highway to Hell.

Guess who just scored for Rangers again?

Both goals have been in the Champions League qualifiers. The Scottish season doesn’t start until the weekend. -
North Stand: 6 of the 18 steel trusses need action
daftpenguin replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Just seen this, thanks for bumping. Feels like forever ago now, yet these latest safety concerns feel painfully inevitable. It will not shock you to discover that no, I was not provided with any further correspondence about the promised independent review after the incident that occurred at the Watford match with my son. I asked about it on the day we were invited back, but I won’t pretend that I have made any significant attempts to ‘chase it up’, as it were. Unfortunately I can’t offer any insight into how and when this review took place, if at all. I will say that the actual staff from the club were as helpful as they could be with the situation and made efforts to assure my son about his safety at the ground. The recent nonpayment of staff angered me as much as anyone, but even more so having actually met and spent time with the people whose livelihoods are being persistently impacted by the reigning chairman. -

Places you’ve seen/met a player or seen a shirt
daftpenguin replied to I.T.I's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I was walking through Meadowhall one evening in 2015 or so when I looked up and was about to bump into Ross Wallace. He looked up, clocked that I was wearing a Wednesday coat, put his head down and walked straight past me I was wearing the same coat a few months earlier when David Hirst popped into Taco Bell in Ecclesall Road to pick up a delivery. He did at least say hello while I gibbered and stared. -

Let's set small clubs attendance records as a protest
daftpenguin replied to ng19owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I like this idea, and honestly it sounds like a pretty good way of staging a 'walk-out' that would actually benefit some of the smaller clubs around the area in a positive way. However I think we're way past the club being at all bothered about being embarrassed - their own behaviour has done enough of that to last a lifetime. -
STATEMENT FROM DEJPHON CHANSIRI
daftpenguin replied to andypandy's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
He can post statements about this but he still hasn't explained why he didn't feel it necessary to pay his employees' wages. Horrific behaviour, and entirely expected. -
Iorfa has retweeted him also.

Anyone asked Emma Scott or Anthony Gay? Let’s see what Darryl Denham has to add
-
Yes. It was my kid. (Not my cement)

He doesn’t seem to be very well thought of amongst Aberdeen fans, and that’s not even because he’s not signed a new contract. Was called up to the Scotland squad last year although I’m sure someone will have a witty remark about how that’s not that much of an honour etc. I’d like to see more Scots in the Wednesday squad for personal bias, but it doesn’t seem like it would be a sensible move

Where to report a stadium issue?
daftpenguin replied to daftpenguin's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I was told that the club has liaised with buildings control on this, and there is to be an independent review carried out by the group manager. I'll be honest and say I didn't ask specifically when this would be as I was mostly focused on just making sure my son had a positive experience today, but if I'm given more information I'll be sure to share it further. Sorry, I should've mentioned it in the previous post. -
Where to report a stadium issue?
daftpenguin replied to daftpenguin's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Colossal bump I know but I did promise an update so here we are. Following an extensive back and forth email chain with the very helpful members of SWFC's operations team, I'm pleased to say that my son and I were invited to Hillsborough today and given a tour of the grandstand, followed by an opportunity to be in the control room with the staff who run match days and deal with all manner of incidents that occur within and even outside of the ground. They made a point of making him feel comfortable and secure throughout. I also had the chance to have a few conversations with the safety officer and operations coordinator, who were very welcoming and open to speaking to both of us about the running of the stadium during a game, as well as talking about how lots of different safety issues are dealt with. We were also allowed to watch the match on tickets provided by the club. As an experience designed to put his mind at ease after the unpleasant situation that occurred at the Watford game, it was greatly appreciated. He had an absolutely terrific time today and my sincerest thanks go to all at the club who looked after him. -
I got a pair of his shorts from the kit man sale once. Carry on.

Where to report a stadium issue?

Thanks all for your responses, both helpful and humorous. Appreciate the well wishes for my son especially. On the back of my request here, I sent an email to the addresses provided in earlier posts last night and received a very prompt email this morning from a member of the operations team at SWFC. They noted that they had been made aware of the incident and that they are investigating what has happened. I have been assured that further contact will follow upon completion of this. Apologies were also passed on to my son. If and when further information is available I will be sure to keep this updated. Cheers all. -
Hoping for a bit of help here fellow Owls, cheers in advance. Brought my little lad to the family stand yesterday - as we came up the stairs, he opened the door only for a piece of what looked like cement to land directly on his head. Naturally he got very upset and we had to have him checked out by a medic on site, as well as having our details taken by a steward in attendance - name, address, etc. I’m wanting to take this further and raise the issue with someone at the club - a seven year old should not be at risk of falling objects, especially in the family section. Can anyone recommend the best point of contact?

Musaba and Gassama
daftpenguin replied to Inspector Lestrade's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Musaba should’ve had about three goals today. A few easy chances went begging. And I don’t care even one bit. My word, what a joy he is to watch. Excitement builds whenever he’s involved. Opposition defenders must hate facing him. Gassama is of a similar attacking prowess and did very well also, but there is definitely something extra special about Musaba. -
Just under an hour ago Windass put a story on Insta with Kevin Hart saying about cutting the middle man out and ending with “what I’m saying is, mind your f***ing business”. Doesn’t really add much to the conversation but I think we will find out soon.
