Just tell the Police they are not required...would save a fortune. Although possible SAG might insist on large numbers of Police as they know someone else is paying for it. Although we taxpayers have already payed for the service.

My point is, why do SYP need to send so many, is it because they know the clib pick up part of the bill. The confrontations happen as they are seperated to some extent which causes them and us. Very few would actually want to fight each other so let them fi d each other if they want.

Regardless of the spray etc..isnt the bigger issue that SYP seem to manage to find 100s of officers for a football match but seem to struggle to find officers to clamp down and stop prolific offenders and Crime hotspots. If they treated other members of the public the way they treat football fans questions would be asked.

So it proves they were near someone who may have done something wrong....that would work in court....guilty by association as a football fan. Not much use in an open space with hundreds of people in close proximity

Knowing SYP, they will be spraying anything and everyone. Bit of PR for SYP, the fact some random may be in the immediate vicinity when people are sprayed does not mean they are involved in any wrong doing. Would have thought BWC which they already have would be enough to identify those involved. These sprays are great in buildings or secure vaults etc as can identify someone was in a private buulding etc....not so goid in a public space.

Unfortunatly the police now can only Police wirh consent. Just remove the Police and alk of a sudden most stop being brave. How many times do we see opposing fans held back by the invisible wall. Remove Police and all of a sudden they quieten down and mingle.
