  1. Kop: sold out South: sold out North: sold out Grandstand: sold out Leppings Lane: 800 left But the stand has nothing to do with it Ok
  2. I agree. SWFC putting regular premier league football on show (not yoyoing) would need 45 - 50k. If West Ham and Everton can average 50k there's no reason Wednesday can't. I think the point I'm making is other clubs even outside then prem, seem to have grown their support faster than us. Derby County ffs get 28k average - even out did us in league one by 3-4k. Ipswich Town (even before prem last season) getting comfortably higher gates. Both unthinkable 20 years ago.
  3. As others have said, I think it's quite telling that the one area we are struggling to sell is the bit under the away section. Not surprised to be honest.
  4. What year are these figures from or are they an average from various seasons? You are spot on. Every club i can think of have better gates now than 15 - 20 yrs ago. Even United have increased by 8-9k. They've effectively caught us up. We've basically stayed the same or perhaps increased very slightly since the early 2000s. Just shows how unattractive the club has been made by various chairmen over the years. We are not gaining new fans. Get it right and we could reap the rewards of the popularity of modern football.
  5. The lower lep is not enough allocation per league rules. Swapping away fans to three or four blocks of the North would be possible in terms of segregation but would those owls fans from those areas migrate to the lep? Not sure the leppings lane end has the pull that some fans think it does. Also, Grandstand is really well suited to being the family stand. Away fans up there would make that impossible. Secondly, grandstand away allocation keeps the problem of nasty things being thrown on home fans, but all season not just during a sell out. We have a poor ground for modern segregation.
  6. I live in Ipswich and a lot of Town fans tell me DC reminds them of Marcus Evans. It's not even close on the scale of insanity. They all wish us well though. There's something about seeing other clubs getting absolutely shafted that brings a bit of unity amongst otherwise rival fans.
  7. This happened in the case of the Friedkin group who were in exclusivity to by Everton. They even contributed millions to the construction of the new stadium in the belief they were taking over the club. The deal fell through and they remained a creditor of the club. The new owners took on the debt as part of the takeover. That's a really odd case though. They were given exclusivity, of course they thought it would go through.
  8. Incoming owners often loan money to the club they're buying so they can keep operating until the takeover is officially complete. Once a preferred bidder is in place I will worry much less about the club finances.
  9. I think it sold out but people didn't go. There were videos on social media of people throwing away or even burning their tickets
  10. I had a mate who's a west ham fan and three or four years ago we started going to a few matches a season. The difference is unreal. They all complain but they've got a properly world class stadium. The facilities are ridiculous. No queues at half time, beers tracked up waiting, merch all around at stalls, proper bogs. I'm with you on this, we've been totally left behind. We are not a big club, but have the potential to be massive if we get it right. I don't know if Owls who don't visit prem grounds know just how stark the difference in experience is now. It's no wonder west ham average over 50,000. West Ham double our gates, so do Newcastle - think about that, we were on a par, if not better within my life time.
  11. On the grandstand, If the seats are close to the gangway entrance/exit there is a hand rail that blocks your view a little. It's never been a problem for me but would annoy somepeople.
  12. I once tried to steal a packet of spaghetti from Tesco, but they had a woman on the door and i couldn't get pasta.
  13. Proud to see the empty seats. That's what it has come to. We will get him out of our club. Momentum is building. The football world is taking notice. Beyond that even; we've been discussed on the news and in the actual cabinet. Enough is enough Dejphon, go now!
  14. Fair enough mate, I suppose people could still get the anger across? Depends how tightly controlled. I agree with your previous post that unity is important to get him out and if there's going to be a boycott of engagement then it's great that all fans groups are in line with each other
