  1. Not heard of Nicky having a son in the academy, maybe just crossed wires with ernie as he has been there from age 6.
  2. As said earlier his dad is called Steve, they live in Wales near kiveton park. 100% Wales comprehensive school must have something in the school dinners cos that’s also where Will Grainger went to school.
  3. I get ya fusire and shipston cadz Charles team was a strong one, think fusire and Rio haven’t shown yet what they are capable of and could still come good. Johnson was a surprise coming through, but I agree has looked good in his cameos and has been excellent in training and pre season apparently. Ernie and Jarvis were the only ones earmarked from the few years below that team and then I’ve heard the group from Will Grainger, aloa Kay etc could be the best crop yet.
  4. You know more than me, I’ve not been around it for a few years now. I read your updates and you know your stuff. You said about Ernie’s injuries and him coming from nowhere, I know what you meant, regards his scholarship. But was just clarifying he’s been at academy from 6 and not a surprise he’s where he’s at, I get that you concentrate on 18s and 21s
  5. Definitely, great family, great character and he’s a wednesdayite, long way to go and he will get a dip at some point like all young players do, hopefully people understand that and what a good young crop we have. ernie, cadz, Grainger, aloa, Kay all have a great chance. I’ve never really seen Brown till this year but he’s impressed also, same with Emery.
  6. He’s been at academy earmarked for 1st team from age of 6. His scholarship was hampered with injuries but they’ve always known he was talented and batted off approaches from the big guns on more than one occasion in his younger years. Played up all the way through and always been a mature head on young shoulders
  7. Grainger was definitely down for no5
  8. Know how you feel pal!! I’ve had cancer last 9 years (I’m 50) and have recently gone stage 4 and have to travel to royal marsden in London for a trial to give me hope. The highlight of my week is taking my 16 yr old son to the match, we haven’t renewed yet for next year in defiance of chancer!! My dreams of never watching us in the prem alongside my son as I did at his age is heartbreaking. Not taking him at all is even worse!! I will probably crumble, cos making the memories and sharing our love for the owls is what’s important!! there will be many other stories like mine that this man will never comprehend or understand. It’s not a business, a toy or just a football club!! To many of us it’s everything
  9. I’ve heard they’re from Iceland ??
  10. Shutt was in youth team, released and then came back after spell in non league.
  11. Just spoke to Mel, it was a youth team kit and that is Carl shutt back row 2nd left.
  12. No, he’s not, Ernie has been top dog in his age group from 6 year old,, think will be u18 captain next season
  13. Tickets and food only, sorry, should have made that clear.
  14. We’ve had somebody drop out due to the rail strikes and he’s kindly donated his table to people who maybe struggling with the cost of living crisis or someone who deserves a night out for good work in the community. I thought this was a great idea so I’ve also included the last table in this, giving a total of 20 tickets!! So I’m looking for 10 people ( 2 tickets each) for us to donate the tickets too and give them a night on us next Friday!! Please nominate anybody you think deserves and would enjoy! Thanks
  15. Morning, We have had 2 very successful “evenings with!!” down at Dinnington Resource centre in the last 12 months. Mel Sterland last October and David Hirst in February. Our next event is the majestic John Sheridan, Friday 6th October!! It will again be hosted by John Pearson and Mel Sterland and looks like being another sell out. I have around 30 tickets left (£25 or table of 10 £200) and you can secure them by contacting me on the details on the poster!

  16. Donny Glynn snoddin front left
  17. My tickets were cancelled at 2pm I re-ordered them in my Mrs name at 2:10pm and sat in same seats Loads of Wednesday in home end and not a hint of trouble. They risked more trouble by turning people down at the gate who had traveled without reading the email.
  18. Hi, Wednesdayite of 40 years and long term follower (not many posts) on owlstalk. I’m 47 and suffered with cancer and depression for the last 7 years. During this time I’ve managed to raise over £100k for charity and will be a baton bearer next month for the commonwealth games. My latest project is a virtual exercise app that allows football fans to get fit and upload their daily miles into a interactive map of the 92 football clubs of the UK. You unlock prizes, postcards, motivational tips, group support, incentives and charity donations along the way. I’m looking for all your support too share the website on your social medias and maybe get one or two sign ups from the weds fan base. Take a look at my website https://www.virtual92.com/ and my social media @thevirtual92 and see if you can find the added swfc touches
  19. Think we have to go 4-4-2 whilst carrying so many injuries and use windass from the bench BPF hunt brennan dunkley palmer FDB luongo bannan theo paterson kamberi so far from are best 11 BPF Iorfa. Dunkley. Hutch Paterson. Adeneran luongo. Theo Bannan Windass. Gregory
  20. About 2006 Cardiff away! Around that time I was working in circles that meant I was friends with Ricky Hatton and stevie arnold(Ashley from coronation street). A group of us including “Ashley” and Tommy Craig we’re going to the calazaghe fight that night in Cardiff so our Ashley came to the game with us. We went round the pubs of Cardiff and met up with Tango and his mates who said we could get on his minibus to the ground. On approach to the ground we was attacked by Cardiff fans who put the minibus window through, they then leant in throwing punches and the funniest thing I’ve ever seen was when the seen the occupants and stopped in shock and stated “it’s ******** Ashley peacock” deflating the situation straight away thankfully. We then went into Charlotte church’s mums pub before the fight in the evening, great “surreal” day, just shading the Blackpool away night with the same crew that ended up with our picture in the news of the world due to some ladies selling sleaze on Ashley’s chipolatta
  21. A little but amount of games (especially for younger age groups at home) didn’t and often cancelled last minute. Your right performances/development are what’s important at that age but any decent coaches seem to leave or be poached as poorly paid, organisation leaves a lot to be desired and though the cosmetics of the facilities have improved since chansiri come in the standard and lack of structure/vision/plan hasn’t I’m afraid.
  22. But all our teams from U16 downwards we’re getting beat last season (by November no team U16 had won a game) and more alarmingly a lot of our teams hadn’t played more than half a dozen games as all home games were cancelled due to lack of space/pitches at Middlewood Rd?!?!?
  23. He definitely grabbed his shirt and pulled him toward him then growled in his ear. My interpretation of it was that he said something like “fluffing brilliant, keep it going” might be wrong but from the way arter reacted back it’s how I seen it.
  24. Seen it all, think Parker just as big a pr1ck as it seemed to me he grabbed him and pulled him over aggressively but didn’t tell him off but told him what a great job he was doing winding us up. That was my take on it anyway.
