  1. Not heard of Nicky having a son in the academy, maybe just crossed wires with ernie as he has been there from age 6.
  2. As said earlier his dad is called Steve, they live in Wales near kiveton park. 100% Wales comprehensive school must have something in the school dinners cos that’s also where Will Grainger went to school.
  3. I get ya fusire and shipston cadz Charles team was a strong one, think fusire and Rio haven’t shown yet what they are capable of and could still come good. Johnson was a surprise coming through, but I agree has looked good in his cameos and has been excellent in training and pre season apparently. Ernie and Jarvis were the only ones earmarked from the few years below that team and then I’ve heard the group from Will Grainger, aloa Kay etc could be the best crop yet.
  4. You know more than me, I’ve not been around it for a few years now. I read your updates and you know your stuff. You said about Ernie’s injuries and him coming from nowhere, I know what you meant, regards his scholarship. But was just clarifying he’s been at academy from 6 and not a surprise he’s where he’s at, I get that you concentrate on 18s and 21s
  5. Definitely, great family, great character and he’s a wednesdayite, long way to go and he will get a dip at some point like all young players do, hopefully people understand that and what a good young crop we have. ernie, cadz, Grainger, aloa, Kay all have a great chance. I’ve never really seen Brown till this year but he’s impressed also, same with Emery.
  6. He’s been at academy earmarked for 1st team from age of 6. His scholarship was hampered with injuries but they’ve always known he was talented and batted off approaches from the big guns on more than one occasion in his younger years. Played up all the way through and always been a mature head on young shoulders
  7. Grainger was definitely down for no5
  8. Know how you feel pal!! I’ve had cancer last 9 years (I’m 50) and have recently gone stage 4 and have to travel to royal marsden in London for a trial to give me hope. The highlight of my week is taking my 16 yr old son to the match, we haven’t renewed yet for next year in defiance of chancer!! My dreams of never watching us in the prem alongside my son as I did at his age is heartbreaking. Not taking him at all is even worse!! I will probably crumble, cos making the memories and sharing our love for the owls is what’s important!! there will be many other stories like mine that this man will never comprehend or understand. It’s not a business, a toy or just a football club!! To many of us it’s everything
  9. I’ve heard they’re from Iceland ??
  10. Shutt was in youth team, released and then came back after spell in non league.
  11. Just spoke to Mel, it was a youth team kit and that is Carl shutt back row 2nd left.
  12. No, he’s not, Ernie has been top dog in his age group from 6 year old,, think will be u18 captain next season
  13. Tickets and food only, sorry, should have made that clear.
  14. We’ve had somebody drop out due to the rail strikes and he’s kindly donated his table to people who maybe struggling with the cost of living crisis or someone who deserves a night out for good work in the community. I thought this was a great idea so I’ve also included the last table in this, giving a total of 20 tickets!! So I’m looking for 10 people ( 2 tickets each) for us to donate the tickets too and give them a night on us next Friday!! Please nominate anybody you think deserves and would enjoy! Thanks
  15. Morning, We have had 2 very successful “evenings with!!” down at Dinnington Resource centre in the last 12 months. Mel Sterland last October and David Hirst in February. Our next event is the majestic John Sheridan, Friday 6th October!! It will again be hosted by John Pearson and Mel Sterland and looks like being another sell out. I have around 30 tickets left (£25 or table of 10 £200) and you can secure them by contacting me on the details on the poster!
